So, on the TTC (the public transit system in Toronto), they have have this cultural initiative called "Poetry On The Way", which showcases works by Canadian poets.
I enjoy having a read when I see them as it's a great break from the usual product pushing adverts that are slapped up there just above our noodles.
I found the piece that I'm going to post below quite amusing considering where it's posted. Have a read and see if you agree. It's a nice, short poem by David Michael Gault. Here it is:
Branch Line
a leaf fell onto the floor
of the subway car
all the passengers
looked up at
the metal grill
the ceiling
every one of them
expecting to see the sky
Man, I so wanted to run from that over-crowded subway car after reading that! LOL! It's like anti-advertising for the transit system--'cause we'd all rather be anywhere than on that damn commute!

I can see why you liked it.
When we were on vacation we were walking somewhere and we found placks with poems on them...it was a nice surprise. My sons took the time to read them, and I think perhaps they will remember them when they stumble across them in an English class sometime. &&&&&&&&&&&&&&0 &&&&&&&&&&&&&&0
