it didn't really hurt - the blow to the head
little blood in my ear
tickle on my cheek

a sneak attack, from the back

just when I thought you were gone, just when I thought you were gone

it didn't really hurt - an uppercut to the chin
chipped tooth - bit my tongue
I saw you coming
just when you should be gone, long gone along

right there in front of me

it didn't really hurt when you broke my heart
quick stab and twist - pull the string, watch it fail

and not a drop was lost

you should be gone, gone long along

yet when I'm not looking, when my mind's turned away

it all comes back

little dirty sneak attack
we're all sentient snowflakes

I'm a number that doesn't count

the nothing ventured - the nothing feigned
