Why can’t they just cancel the order? Charge some kind of handling fee for their work and resale the tickets on 10C or Ticketbastard. I understand its a rule but shit happens in real life.

Agreed. People abused the system in tours past and you cannot blame the 10C at all for taking a hard-line stance this time around.

that said, there things they could do that would still prevent abuse while at the same time keping the seats filled and ensuring that 10C members don't get stuck paying $150 for a pair of tickets they can't use. Problem is that all of those things would cause an administrative nightmare.

The easy solution: when tickets go on sale for each show, after the tickets are sold out, the next (say) 15 transactions get processed but you get put, in order, on a waiting list (and of course your cC is not charged). Then, as soon as one 10C member that got tickets has to "transfer" because (s)he can't go anymore, refund that person's money and transfer the tickets to the first person on the waiting list. If they have to, charge the transferor a $10 admin fee to cover the time/effort that the 10C has to put forth to process everything.

In the end, you'd have no empty seats, and more happy 10C members ...

You know, that is actually a great idea...especially when I get word of "pseduo" waiting lists that have unofficially existed around here from time to time.

well there's had to be some situation where they could have transferred the tickets, no?

i do understand that when you purchase tickets that "all sales are final"...

however, people have to understand that life gets in the way some time...

i'm not looking for my money back, i just want somebody to have my tickets and enjoy the show.

    but oh well.

Which show is it? I have definitely heard of people transfering tix before.
  • why not allow transfers but put the transfer at the end on the 10C tickets.

Example: someone with a 100,000 number transfer to someone the tickets then go to the back of the 10C line (after the highest number)

an extra layer of administration and then everybody would have to be moved up-headache

but you should be allowed to get a refund since you cant resell them (even for face) like you could with a TM ticket.

No because all sales are FINAL.

You can't have it both ways - get the opportunity to purchase tickets ahead of time before the general public, get a decent amount of protection that scalpers are not getting a hold of these tickets by having to pick them up (which is a major undertaking on behalf of the 10club) and then expect that at the drop of a hat, they have to change something for you because you can't make it

it's unfortunate, but the rules were established and advised prior to purchase

as fas as I'm concerned, that's that
Don't come closer or I'll have to go

I realize they have this policy because people take advantage of the situation but those of us who truly have a problem and can't afford to be out $142 should not be penalized.

I had 10c tix to 5 shows on the Fall 2005 Canada Tour and I was in a bad motorcycle accident in the summer of '05. My girlfriend emailed 10c while I was in ICU and they refunded every penny.
  • I had tickets to the London show last summer. I finally got pregnant after 4 years of trying and ended up in a high risk situation. I emailed 10c and they wished me well, refunded my money and I think they were going to contact the next person in line(???) and offer the tickets up. I now have a 5 month old baby boy! Thanks 10c!

I was at sea for tickets this year and missed the sale and asked Ten club about ticket transfers and ticket resells for unused tickets and here is their response:

No ticket transfers are allowed on this tour to curb the scalping issues. The tickets will not be resold. If members are not able to attend, the tickets may be used to upgrade other fan club members.

    Thanks

I might be in the very same situation for an upcoming show, and if I couldn't go I was going to email them to just let them know I would not be there and to whatever they wanted with the tickets, just please don't let them go unused. But it sounds like from what you're saying, that it won't matter. I don't need money back, its my fault, I get it, but if I cant use them, I want someone to be able to, even if it is of no charge to them, even if it is someone who works for the tenclubs 2nd cousin. I don't care.

to those that say "if you can't attend a show then don't buy tickets" do you even look at what you are typing?

yea, that's what happened...i purchased tickets to a show that i knew i had zero chance to attend. maybe if some of you actually took the time to read a whole post and not just come into a thread with your negative energy and just post some asinine comment, you might get it.

stuff comes up after the fact. now that's really not that hard to understand.

    oh, and as for you:
