he stands at a respectful distance
his hands clasp behind his back
the grieving woman replaces dead blooms
silent sobs wrack her body
new white roses for a dead son
the boat motors lazily into the dock
the lights of the city dance reflected
upon the black night water
ultra violet cameras capture nocturnal activities
of fools and hoodlums and naive wannabes
hair shorn close to the skull, long black coats a shroud
serious faces and itchy trigger fingers
a deal gone wrong, a double cross
a swift death. guns and knives
a silver dagger fells the foe
and bodies litter the ground
the blink of an eye, a single heart beat
a butterfly flaps its wings, a judas kiss
a spreading pool of spilt blood
life's ashes dispersed upon the wind
his hands clasp behind his back
the grieving woman replaces dead blooms
silent sobs wrack her body
new white roses for a dead son
the boat motors lazily into the dock

take a good look
this could be the day

glasses full, vacant stares
a stone cold heart
he paces the periphery
he watches her with him, the other
his judgement wrought with green
her ruby lips, ebony eyes
alabaster skin, a guile becoming
curves to crash on
he dare not wait for fear of losing her
he watches a drunken old man's passes
he knows what is to be done
but can not absolve her actions
even with his acquiesence he curses her
she in turn despises his weakness
yet grows strong from it
the red wine spills as glass breaks
upon the persian loom a stain grows
a candle flickers but all is not well
he walks through the gardens
sandstone pathways cracked with age
an iron gate encloses secrets demanded
what is this he sees before him
a false creation clouds his mind
for malice not good intent does he seekhear my name
