solatisa is a poet? doubtful......

i'm not a poet.... i write songs sometimes, but that's only cause i need words to go to my music, and the words always suck. i don't know why i wrote this, but i was thinking some of this as i was walking my dog. i wanted to write it down and then i was like, shit, i'll just put it on the message board, so if by chance someone does read it, they'll make fun of me.


OXYCONTIN
upon the mirror,
in two neat little rows...
the whitest of whites,
forget all my woes.

look down to the table,
reflection of my face...
suck it all up,
don't leave any waste.

sick back into the couch,
friends step up to the plate...
one by one,
they join this new state.

the feeling that sets in,
of total content...
smiles all around,
and lies under torment.

however the downside,
won't let you forget...
as you lie on the floor,
as you hug the toilet.

you wake up the next day,
not feeling the same...
the drive home to your house,
the feeling of shame.

you sit back and wonder,
why you enjoy it so much...
the answer's a feeling,
a word you can't touch.

you still love the feeling,
back out the door...
back to the mirror,
to break up some more

    don't be so hard on yourself. this is pretty great stuff and hopefully you'll decide to keep at it and share some more.

    its scary sometimes to put yourself out there, but i can tell you that the people i've met here are very supportive and always appreciate it when someone decides to share.

    Thought I'd let you know I like this, it's got some good images in it and don't say you doubt if you're a poet. Everyone is, the battle it how much of the poet do you want to let out?

    daaaaamn that is actually pretty good, but i didnt cry when i read it. i miss OC parties
