Glass Suffering

FreethinkerFreethinker Posts: 28
My adored stands before me…
Before stands a wall of glass cold to the touch
Torture to the mind as I try to feel her warmth
Instead feeling the chill of the glass that separates

Seeing but not feeling
Seeking, yet with out purpose
At my wits end remorse overwhelms
Head striking this unrelenting wall with ferocity
Tears freeze upon its surface and my cries are silent
Upon broken legs this empty shell falls upon his knees

Insignificant suffering falling upon deaf ears
Inconsequential in the eyes of blind minds
There exists one in the audience of pain
Loneliness engulfs my essence
The single sign I am alive
The senselessness plagues the mind
Yet it must be done
This glass must stand
And I must be tormented by what lies behind
Until the chill of the glass enters
Turning all numb

-to me there is no glass. you see it because you want to.

    Seeing but not feeling

-i know this one. this can be satisfied at any moment you like.

    Seeking, yet with out purpose

-without purpose? really. come on! everyone has an alterior motive don't we? what do you you seek? Your choice only.

-you saw her suffering, you felt it too. that is not present tense now, this poem is a gift to let go of that isn't it?

I suppose I should tell the story behind this piece...
I broke up with my girlfriend who I was with for 2 yrs. Along those two years she had become my best friend, we went through everything together. So we attempted to stay best friends after the break up. However after months she never was able to move on. My therapist as well as her's said that we should not communicate for a long time until she finds someone else. The reasoning for this was "As long as she has you(me)in some form or another she will not want to move on and find someone new." I miss my best friend, I see her online all the time and I can't talk to her. I know she's suffering as am I. This is killing me. So thats this fool's sad story, heh.

my boyfriend and i have broken up many times, but this time we stayed together so we could get here.

we are commited, but we are not. in a way, you get caught up just with survival. leaving abest friend seems so heartless.

at the same time, if two people are pretty clear that they know they will never marry each other, keeping our eyes open while in these relationships allows room to change and grow.

    hope this helps....or well...
