Why didn't you steal my thoughts
so my head would be clear and
I could come home dear. No
you took what little I had and
left me in pain, now its raining
    oh the cold November rain.
Could you not see it in my
eyes the hope that I would
soon die. No, again even in
crime you would not look at
my face afraid I might ask for
    a dime.

    cannot protect
    the blows upon his soul

    dumbfuck

    can he never be whole?

    Renders him some liquid solace
But does not erase the memories
They always rise to the surface

Rise up to a new roost
    Sitting among the working class
    Back to square one?
Never too far from his past
You've changed your place in this world!
  • Rotting brain at the desk
    clickety-clack, clickety-clack
    "How can I help you?"

    Employed by the working force
    Steering on a different course
    Struggle in a different way
    Struggle from day to day
You've changed your place in this world!
  • Give me some medicine
    Mindless numbfuck
But the doc said it was good
    Shit out of luck

    Now zombied
    Floating around
    Lips barely moves
    Escapes no sound

    Inside screaming
    LET ME OUT
    But zapped into submission
    Cannot shout

Makes life the way it used to be
    Come to think of it
What does that drug company know about me
You've changed your place in this world!
  • They know that most
    Trust their doctor right?
    So they buy your doctor
    And sell you the lie

My doctor bought out by a company
Grease the wheel and keep it rolling
Prozak does give you that lost look in your eyes
Almost like you are pondering life too much
With a guaranteed end in sight
You've changed your place in this world!

    Prozak, beer goggles or friends
    The answer all depends
On will, on strength, on open thought
One of the three will give you permanant mind rot
You've changed your place in this world!
  • Ah, let's have us a beer then
    My old friend

so well I remember that day,
when I visited my buddy in the VA.
He tried to smile, tried to be happy for me,
image it tried for me as he laid wasting away,
wishing even deeper that I had been the grim reaper.

    Oh my swollen feet,
the path through my head grows hard.
"or the land of the free and the home of the brave".
I was brave, they don't know how brave I was.
It was hell, I beat hell, why don't they see that
I was brave. Hey, you got a dime, I'm hungry,
how bout some coffee. Why'd you throw it
away just to see me dig in the trash? Asshole.

  • So, then who really is the trash?
This poor, worn out, scrounging soul
Or the vile pigs that laugh
As he scrambles for the change & a scrap
Just to fill his ever shrinking belly
If they only really knew him
Even then, would they even care?

wishing it would all end, the rain begins to pour,
the wind bites at his already thin face as he
pulls the worn blanket around his shoulders
and begins the long journey back to his spot
under the bridge. The trip a little easier
    since they stole his cart.

They smile and laugh but who is really the poor?
The worn out soul under the bridge with a tiny spot of hope inside that keeps him warm on the bitterly cold night or is it the asshole who stole the shopping cart out of spite nothing in his heart but hate Life will never give creedence to this man who would wear his wealth like a giant chip on his shoulder.

Life knocks you down and gives you a choice.
Lay down and die or pull yourself up by the bootstraps

    There is always hope

Strange that the lowest people always seem to have the most hope.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.
