How to make a list of books from all of our opinions

How would we come up with the top 20 books of all time? Is there a way we can submit our choices, we vote, and then results spew out somewhere? Anyone have ideas?

Maybe we could submit a list of our own personal top 30, and then we see if there are any duplicates among the list, and then we come up with a list of 50, and we vote on that. Any other suggestions? Is it possible? I'm sure it's possible, anything's possible, but is it easy enough to do?

    It wouldn't be a competition as more of a pool of information. Of course you can put art into a competition, it doesn't mean that the winners have the most talent overall, but just at that time and within the competition criteria. Also, Pearl Jam/Ten Club has hosted plenty of competitions through their newsletters: haiku, drawings, video etc.

    I'm starting to think, though, that this just may be a reflection of my need to organize data. I love to organize data, then find data, and then reorganize it, and then try a different approach to organizing, and then evaluate the process blah blah blah.

    it would be an undertaking but you could just make a spreadsheet with all the entrants and then alphabetize them and then tally - i am sure there is a better way to do it with a spreadsheet tool...somehow, that it would just tally them for you...and then you could go from that list.
