nothing to see

There's
a pebble on the bottom of Clear Lake
a waxy green leaf lost in the shade
an unfamiliar song in an old hymnal
a dusty book between shelves
a brittle attic magazine
an ugly sweater in a donation box
a piece of gravel on the edge of an empty road
an old palm leaf in the rectory closet
an old man collecting cans
a mateless sock in a drawer
a lost Barbie shoe
a rusty hairpin
a faded recipe card
a dust bunny under a wooden bench
and they're all lost in the space beneath the threshold of interest for most viewers
I wonder if they feel it?

    I didn't express my meaning too well...I was thinking about how so many things are solid, but in a way, they wouldn't need to be because even so they're not noticed...
