            you're a fukwit....
.....
you remind me of a character I'm reading in a book by Umberto Eco.....Baudolino....The Poet....I love the book.....Baudolino is an arse.....you're the Poet....I'm waiting for Abdul to turn up.....I'm not very far into the book.........they're asking me to prove why I should be allowed to stay with my baby in Australia, because I'm mentally ill......and they think I should leave......0 -
            Why do think I'm a fuckwit?0

You have a good control of language but I wouldn't go growing a poet's ego just yet, you're a little too stuck on the romantics and archaic language, most revolutions don't move backwards, keep writing but most importantly keep reading, see what the poets of today are doing and find something new and different, something that they have missed.
Just my opinion, but it will probably be shared by others0 -

Absolutely. I love what the poet Patrick Kavanagh said about the culmination of his artistic vision: "I saw that my sole purpose was to have no purpose".0 -

Thanks. I don't read others' poetry, I'm afraid, or novels for that matter. You're right. Most people believe in influences, but I live a detatched little life in my bedroom, and believe that the more individualistic the piece, the more artistic it is

But isn't that art for art's sake; a kind of wilful formalist aestheticism? That's entirely the opposite of the overtly politically committed, purposeful poetry you advocated at the beginning of your thread. I must raise this point of contradiction here, with respect.
I wish you all the very best in your creative endeavours.

I'm an artist, in more than the field of poetry alone. I've written a lot over the past five years or so, and wish to convey these texts without certain hassles this movement is addressing. Ultimately, I couldn't care less whether anyone reads what I've written. Temporally, I'd appreciate making a spiritual connection with many through my writing. Thankyou for your good wishes

            ahem
jayscott once said something about going to bars and trolling for chicks... (that was, of course before the lovely sds stole him away from us)
this reminds me of that
and perhaps you are sincere, i've no cause to doubt that, but... it's just a tad forward to bust into a roomfull of virtual strangers and ask "who wants to go for a ride?"
show us what you got, dudeNosotros nunca escuchamos la voz adentro0 -

            that's right... go publish
you're coming off quite megalomeniacal at the moment
it's wierd, dude
why would anyone have faith in you? you've got 11 fucking posts?Nosotros nunca escuchamos la voz adentro0 -
Quality, not quantity, is applicable here. If you see potential in my three poems, and find a sense of opportunity in the header to this thread, then that's just enough faith for me

It's your assumption that I've chosen to emphasise the definite article in my username; not my intention. This is only one forum. I'm currently posting on many, and numbers are steadily increasing. Of course, I'll "require" e-mail addresses, in order to keep those interested informed.0 -
your potential is not mine to guess at
you've posted all of 30 lines of poetry here and they're ok
the fact that you don't expose yourself to other styles speaks largely of an ego out of check
i see you are 24... young, but i know other young poets with at least twice the talent and absolutely none of this ego
just strikes me as bizarre...
you know humility? it's wildly attractive among those you wish to consider peersNosotros nunca escuchamos la voz adentro0 -

I'd say the reverse about stylistic matters. Talent is a subjective concept. I know of humility, yet it doesn't apply to me, given I'm pretty much self-assured in writing.0 -
            oy!
ditto isn and off with me
good luck with your plan to rule the internet with a wide following of stupid starry-eyed poor judges of characterNosotros nunca escuchamos la voz adentro0 -

You're, paradoxically, judging both my character, and those of the people who choose to lend support, in making that assumption.0 -
i am in fact calling you a fuckwit and i see no following
if i did
i'd call them all fuckwits, too
no paradox hereNosotros nunca escuchamos la voz adentro0
