COMING OR GOING?

When you said to me
That you’d “wait and see”
About what you were trying to do

I said to you
That I would “wait in lew”
And that I would “always be true”

But you tossed and you turned
While our candle still burned
Without you even knowing

So I stood at your door
As you sat on the floor
And asked if you were coming or going?
I asked if you were coming or going?

You sat and you stared
As I walked down the stairs
And let myself out of your door

Dazed and confused
But not beaten or bruised
You left yourself to the silence

The next time we met
With myself I had bet
That you were still short of knowing

What was there to do
Did I still feel for you?
And were you coming or going?
Were you still coming or going?

All the plans that we made
Were now flying away
I could see them leave through your window

The last time I looked
My body shivered and shook
In the light you were so much smaller

What happened to you
While I slowly grew
And continued on getting taller?

You were left wanting more
And far to unsure
As to whether you were coming or going
So are you still coming or going?
