On December 5th, 1992 I saw Alice in Chains at Bogarts in Cincinnati Ohio. As a part-time worker at a local record store I had the chance to meet the band backstage thanks to Columbia (the record label)contacts. Anyways I got Layne to sign my ticket stub. It's been professionally framed for years! Now I'm considering having it verified as genuine. The company PSA/DNA seems to be the most used business for autograph verifications. It will cost $50 to have that process done which includes synthetic DNA traces along with the COA/LOA so the item is forever attached to the documentation. I will not sell it, but for collecters value should I have it verified? I already know it's genuine. Let me know what you think. Thanks

    Hell no. $50.00 is waaaay too much.

    You know it is real. The resale of the item would not bring you an additional $50.00 in my opinion to make it worth it. PLUS I think you would have to pay shipping charges both ways AND they will not accept it if it is framed. You would have to take it out. (which might not be a big deal, but some things are better left within the original frame job?)

    P.S. I realized you said you won't sell it, even more reason for those PSA/DNA scam artists to stay away.

    Worth as much as the most a person is willing to pay for it.

    For someone with fans like Layne has, that's probably a lot.

    I realize that. What I meant was for collectable/ insurance against theft, etc. is it worth the $50 to have it verified. If its worth $10 I wouldn't do it. If it's worth hundreds for example, I would. So is it worth it? Like I said, I know its real for myself, but insurance wouldn't care if it got stolen without a COA/ LOA from a reputable source.

    I am concerned that if it ever got stolen, damaged, etc. is it a good idea to have it verified based on collecters values IN CASE something happens to it. $5o is alot and if it has no real value it wouldn't be worth doing. I'm at the age where I'm now realizing nothing is really safe and I'm considering insuring my collectables. Thats why.

    my brother found a copy of no code on cd with ed's autograph and verification with it at a garage sale! ive been trying to get him to give it to me for a year. will never happen.
