    Would love to hear Angels & Fuselage, Steve McQueen, Hell No I Ain't Happy and 72 the next time I see them. Not sure when that will be though.

    Was playing a recent show over on Archive.org and am really digging the new Cooley tunes. Ghost To The Most, Rock And Roll Never Forgets, and Self Destructive Zones kick a ton of ass, as Cooley's tunes tend to do.

    I finally broke down today and bought my first Drive-By Truckers CD - The Dirty South. If I like it I guess I'll have to keep an eye out for the new one when the time comes.

    I got Steven McQueen once. Only I don't remember it. They played for like 3 hours that night, and the last half of that show is a little blury... the last 2 things I remember are Play it all night long and People who died... But like a year later, one of my friends said something about them playing it, and I started arguing with them that they hadn't. But apparently they did, I just had a few too many beers.

    so yesterday i listened to pizza deliverance for the first (and 5th, 6th...) time(s) and holy shit. until that penis song, whose only redeeming quality is the ole, the album is damn near perfect. and zoloft and gg allin at the end make you forget the misstep. patterson's voice at the end of nine bullets is absolutely sick. like black francis' bloody murder screams only more sincere.

    also listened to but less enthused about a blessing and a curse. it's good enough that i'll give it the opportunity to grow on me, though.

    and great car dealer war, that song'd make bruce springsteen jealous.

    who's this rob malone character on mrs dubose? ex band member, band member who never sings or a guest cameo? i can't keep up with all the voices.

    anyway, i haven't been this pissed off about catching on late since i found the replacements circa don't tell a soul. i love this band.

    Rob Malone is an ex band member. He's on Southern Rock Opera as well. Blessing and A Curse took a little while to grow on me, but it's one of my favorites. World of Hurt especially hits harder after seeing it live.

    I've always seen Great Car Dealer war in the same light as Tough Sell (of Gangstabilly). Patterson tends to write a few songs about the same subject, but all entertaining.

    ABAAC does have some great Patterson song's.........Aftermath, Wednesday etc....give it a chance. :D

    Yeah I think the problem with ABAAC is the lack of songs from Jason and Cooley. I mean the two Cooley tracks are awesome, but Jason's two are probably my least favorite from him. Dirty South was a bit more balanced between the three of them.

    I don't think that Jason's songs would have made the cut for his solo album...which might be some of the problem behind his departure, other than the divorce.

    That album doesn't have some of Cooley's best work either.

    Yeah I would take just about anything from Sirens of the Ditch over the two tracks on ABAAC. After hearing that record I started thinking that perhaps he was holding back some of his better stuff for the solo record, and the quality of his DBT contributions was suffering (thus the depature).

    ABAAC sure seems weak compared to the other DBT albums. Gravity's Gone and World of Hurt are the only two I still listen to anymore. Wednesday, Little Bonnie, and Aftermath had their moments back when the album came out, but not so much anymore.

    I always felt When The Well Runs Dry trumped Easy On Yourself and especially Daylight. Too bad it was hidden away on the bonus disc.

    As the other half of the Tybird duo, I can only say that I'm been singing Nine Bullets since Friday night...it's a favorite, but I wonder if it's starting to make Ty nervous...I take a little too much glee over where bullet number 8 is headed. ;) I also really enjoyed singing a duet with a very drunk guy next to me during Zip City....guy could sing every word perfectly and couldn't put a sentence together 3 minutes later.

    I'm keeping my fingers crossed for New Year's Eve...ya'll come down this way and party at our house!

    Hey everyone:

    Have been keeping track of the board but have not been posting lately - following the action on ninebullets, too - very excited about the new album and can't stop spinning Sirens of the Ditch, either...

    I had to chime in though to say that ABAAC is drastically underrated. Granted it is different than most of the rest of the catalog, there are some brilliant tunes - and Jason's work is just fine - Easy on yourself (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPATjKDzyao) might be my favorite track on the album - and Daylight is a pop song, but a bearable one... and don't forget When the Well Runs dry - 99 percent of people couldn't write that song, let alone include it as a "bonus track"...

    Nevermind tracks like Little Bonnie - PAtterson at his finest... and Cooley's contributions are worthy - although I do like his newer stuff that better - the stuff that will likely be on the new album...

    Also - I'm retreading old stuff because I haven't posted in a while - but am I the only one who thinks the best track on Jason's solo disc is the bonus tune? Whisper is hands down the track that I've spun more often than anything else, followed by Down in a Hole, Trouble...

    That's it for now - glad to see the DBT talk...
