Starbucks music

It seems when one speaks of Starbucks music, there are two things being discussed

1. a type and genre of quiet, acoustic, generally emotional music, that sounds like it would be suited for the starbucks customer

or

2. The music that starbucks sells at the counter

anyone have an actual list of either of these types of music?

I saw Ryan Adams and White Stripes cd's sold at starbucks, so thats one example
