OK I'm gonna go against the grain here. Leave the fuckin guy alone. He has provided many great memories for us all. He is allowed to go and do something different. Don't be so fucking snobby.

    Street Teamer? Damage control?

I don't think it has anything to do with being snobby. I think fans with some music integrity can smell a sell-out a mile away. And I don't throw the term "sell-out" around hardly ever.

i hear ya. i'm willing to just block this out of my memory, in his defense though he didn't exacly looked thrilled to be there, maybe he lost a bet or something.

    Eeeeexactly!

This performance with Timbatwat doesn't surprise me in the slightest. He's the definition of sell out.
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

Maybe he got greedy and saw dollar signs instead of integrity... we'll never know...

  • I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt (AGAIN) and say that we all know he's into fashion, and I think he agreed to perform and then got roped into that crap performance. I dont think it has anything to do with selling out. and teh strp show that followed him wasnt bad.

I dont mind the fact that he chose Timbaland to produce. maybe he's sick of the old sound and wants to try something new. fine. Carry On sucked anyways. I will give the new album a listen on 10/14.

let's hope he eventually decides to do an album with just him and an acoustic guitar.

Have you thanked a taper today?
  • Wow ... the video is speechless !!! WTF is that crap ?
Or maybe he's just selling out to get closer to the Pussycat Dolls backstage.

Hilarious! Soon they will pimp his name out to all kinds of products a la Krusty. Like the Chris Cornell home pregnancy test. Or Cereal - ChrisCornell-O's, now with a new jagged metal O that is just as hard to swallow as the new music.

    ....haha swallow

Wow, this new album is going to be horrible. I sure hope he wakes up and puts out another rock album someday, cause he truly is one of the greats.
Who cares if the world is going down the toilet? Eddie Vedder got his mojo back!
  • It's only a matter of time before he has a VH1 reality show, 8 weeks later he'll get divorced and begin dating a Simpson sister. Then he will be a guest judge on American Idol. Then of course he will have a sex tape intentionally stolen and plastered on the net.

Funny how I always disliked that opening line but think the rest of the song has really great lyrics.

I've always got a message from that song about staying true to yourself and not selling out your beliefs hence why I quoted it.
