im sorting of doing this too... i pawned a lot of my cd's and movies to support my drug and drinking habit. lost a lot of classics and now im trying to rebuild. it's overwhelming... i must have had about 300 at one time. now im down to maybe 1/3 of that.

Is this the same sane, well adjusted man who advocates guns and boasts about how responsible he is ???
    Am I hallucinating again ???
This board is nearly enough to make me think mind control through computer screens is possible ??
    Music is not a competetion.

What does this have to do with CD's?

Nothing, but if you had followed the gu thread, you might have asked a similar question.

Oh no! Just realised I haven't got any Hendrix!! It's taken 7 years to realise!!

    Also G'n'R Appetite For Destruction.

    Seems never ending.

Also, someone mentioned Husker Du earlier. Any good? Should I invest?
And Tool & Nine Inch Nail, always steered clear in the past.

About 7 years ago my album collection was stollen (long story!). Around 300 albums in total.
So, I slowly started to re-build it. But I noticed I was taking great care in choosing which albums to replace!
Looking back now, the first 5 albums I bought in the re-building were:
Ten & Vs by Pearl Jam. Tonight's The Night by Neil Young. Faith No More's Angel Dust and the Stone Roses debut album.

In the same situation, what would be the first 5 albums you'd buy...???

thats terrible, if i lost my collection i wouldnt rebuild, i would committ suicide, seriously!

That would be tough to go through. I'm very attached to my CD collection and I'd say the first 5 I'd replace would be Pearl Jam's Vitalogy, Queens of the Stone Age's Self Titled, Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy, Soundgarden's Superunknown, and Beastie Boys' Check Your Head.

if all my cd's got stolen....

i would thank god that they have all been ripped into itunes and are saved onto an external hard drive.

    but for sake of argument:

    Pearl Jam- Yield
    Nine Inch Nails- The Fragile
    Tori Amos- Little Earthquakes
    Fiona Apple- Tidal
    Counting Crows- This Desert Life
