My Morning Jacket to Cancel European Tour

It is with great regret that we have to announce the cancellation of My Morning Jacket's up-coming tour to Europe due to injuries suffered by Jim in Iowa City. For the fans who have purchased tickets, we would like
to extend our gratitude for your support and understanding. Our hope was to merely postpone the tour, but as our scheduling does not allow that to happen in the immediate future, we feel it is best to cancel this tour in hopes of re-scheduling at some point.

We would also like to say 'thank you' to all the fans who have reached out to Jim with their well-wishes as we all hope for his speedy and full recovery.

    I guess just Europe, the next show is the rescheduled Chicago shows then they are playing Australia and Japan.

    I'm not the bands spokesperson or anything haha, but yeah, the next three shows are 12/27 and 12/28 Chicago, and 12/31 NYC.

    I'm not buying tickets to any shows for awhile. First there was iowa city, then cancelling chicago, now this. I am very apprehensive about trying to get some phish tix tomorrow, if i end up with a pair Hampton my fall into a sinkhole or something.

    Now what they hell am i going to do with myself for three days in amsterdam. I wonder...

    i had tickets to their Stockholm show and was going to buy for their Lund show.

    This is really sad. I really wanted too see them. Hopefully they will return ASAP. But, man, so sad.

    Yikes! I saw MMJ in Minneapolis about two weeks ago just before Jim's fall in Iowa. I consider myself lucky with all the cancellations going on. I hope he's okay.

    What happened to him?

    I was pissed, I was out of town when they came through Iowa City so I didn't see the show.

    He stumbled between two monitors on the front of the stage. As far as i'm aware, he was in hospital over night and injured his leg.

    I'm so, so gutted about the cancellation but hope he makes a full recovery :(
    Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

    ... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

    All I can say is, it's never boring being an MMJ fan. Sian can attest to the rollercoaster I've been on as regards an Irish show this year. :p

    1 - They're not doing a show
    2 - Turns out they are, but it's at a festival I have no way of attending
    3 - They're coming back to Europe, but not to Ireland
    4 - Turns out they are, but it's a support gig
    5 - Support gig turns into a headlining gig :D
    6 - Entire tour gets scrapped
