They were labeled "the thinking man's metal". They went more of the prog metal route rather than the hair metal, although they did look like chicks for awhile. I still see them live every time they play in Seattle (which is a hell of a lot more frequently than Pearl Jam does!). They put on a good show and can still play. They are working on a new album now, and will be touring again next year. Not the big arena shows anymore. Mostly casinos and theaters, but at this point, I enjoy seeing the band in smaller venues, and chatting with them after a show. Wilton can still shred, too. I took guitar lessons from him for a little while. Excellent guy.

Yeah, lol. Well when I think of "hair metal" I think of it in terms of musical style moreso than appearance. Queensryche didn't fit the bill musically. Their sound was more progressive, and they didn't have all the stupid ass lyrics attached to all those L.A. bands.
Lost interest after Promised Land. I loved that record though.
you picked a good time to lose interest. I will say though that Mindcrime II was a respectable follow up. the original still holds up and remains to this day one of my favorites.
Rage For Order still sounds like nothing else. What a great record.

In the moment that you left the room, the album started skipping, goodbye to beauty shared with the ones that you love.........
They aren't as good without Chris DeGarmo.
