Even though Blink 182 is a joke band, Travis Barker replacing their first drummer is worth mentioning and made a huge impact.0

Travis Warren for Shannon Hoon. LOL."Oh, a flower you are to my land..."0

i have to mention the british group marillion, who replaced their scottish singer fish with steve hogarth... thus giving the band a new lease of creative life and turning them from a 'prog' band into a truely progressive band. without this change the band would not still be making music today.0

John Frusciante, Red Hot Chili Peppers - Literallty saving the Chili Peppers in the wake of Hillel Slovak's death, John helped the band achieve its greatest success
Roger Waters, Pink Floyd - Many fans (myself included) love the Syd Barrett stuff, but Waters' is the one who turned in the classic work. I realize Waters didn't "replace" Barrett, as they were both in the original lineup, but Waters took over as principal singer and band visionary. I also acknowledge David Gilmour's contributions, but Waters is the one who really stepped up and led the band to glory...
i thought you were talking about Paul Westerberg!

For singer's I would also say Brian Johnson. AC/DC was one of the rare bands that had successful albums with both of their singers. Bon Scott and Brian Johnson were both great frontmen to the band. The Razor's Edge and the Live Album were my introduction to AC/DC and I still love those albums.I can't think of any other bands that made albums that memorable after replacing the singer. It's the best case scenario for having to do that. For musicians.. I dunno. I think the singer is the hardest one to replace. It's pretty hard finding a good front person. For musician I'll go with Dave Grohl. Would nevermind have been the same without him pounding the shit out of his drum kit? 0 0

The obvious choice, of course, would be Paul. "It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 "It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0

Bruce is probably the only one who'd be on this list twice. He replaced Paul Di'Anno after Killers, and he replaced Blaze Bailey when he rejoined the band.pljam said:Bruce Dickinson-replacing original singer IRON MAIDEN ,whos name escapes me“Do not postpone happiness”
