I have faced it, A life wasted...
Take my hand, my child of love
Come step inside my tears
Swim the magic ocean,
I've been crying all these years
Take my hand, my child of love
Come step inside my tears
Swim the magic ocean,
I've been crying all these years

I actually like The Nixons quite a bit, but that's not one of the songs I'm very into.<a href="http://www.shawnsmithsinger.com">Shawn Smith</a> / <a href="http://www.thebandbrad.com">Brad</a> / <a href="http://www.allhailthecrown.com">All Hail the Crown</a> / <a href="http://www.satchelpartnership.com">Satchel</a>

Their big hit was Sister. I actually liked the Nixons when they were around, but they never really caught on in the music world. I've always thought if the Nixons came out beore Matchbox 20, they may have been the band that hit it big. Just my opinion.0

Dublin 2006
Katowice 2007
London 20070 -
Baton Rouge, Miss USA, Head, Fellowship, December, Wire, 1st Trip are all pretty good. And if you like Sister, you should definitely enjoy The Fall. They do a decent cover of Rocket Man by Elton John too.
And if you're still looking for more, their lead singer Zac Maloy has 2 CDs out that are similar in style to the Nixons.0 -

The Nixons 1st release was in 1992...Matchbox 20 didn't debut until 1996. It's possible that "Sister" didn't HIT until 1996, but I'm not really sure its success or faiure would have anything to do with Matchbox 20 since their music isn't even remotely similar.
The Nixons continued to release albums for the next 5-years with very little promotion or radio play, yet they continued to chart some singles and maintain a loyal fanbase through a grueling touring schedule.
IndianSummer - I'll give you some songs to check out later tonight when I get home.
EDIT - I see LoveMonkey has given you some already...some good choices...I'll post some others for you if you'd like.<a href="http://www.shawnsmithsinger.com">Shawn Smith</a> / <a href="http://www.thebandbrad.com">Brad</a> / <a href="http://www.allhailthecrown.com">All Hail the Crown</a> / <a href="http://www.satchelpartnership.com">Satchel</a>

I missed this thread when it was new last month but I'm bringing it back. I was a big fan of the Nixons back in the day. I have all their albums and one of Zac Maloy's. Sad Sad Me was another song I liked that wasn't mentioned before. Good stuff. I always liked Sister which kinda hooked me on the band.
