If the current list of shows are all that's happening...then the answer is no. I have a big vacation planned in early June (honeymoon!) that's using up a lot of my PTO.

  • 1. 2005 Motley Crue - I think Vince sang every 5th word

    2. 1987 Bon Jovi - blown off the stage by Cinderella

    3. 2000 Tesla - Jeff Keith came out 90 minutes late and was absolutely shitfaced. I love Tesla but this was awful.

    4. 2000 3 Doors Down - boring as hell and blown off the stage by Fuel

    5. 1998 Godsmack/Kid Rock/Sevendust - Kid Rock left after 3 songs because he didn't like the sound system. Sevendust just plain sucked. And like someone mentioned in an earlier post, every Godsmack song sounded the same.

you told me that even though you meet all the members and had wine spritzers with them, the Backstreet Boys was your least favorite show!

Any time I saw Sleater Kinney opening for PJ

Garth Brooks in 1992 or so. Holy crap.

Lupe Fiasco at Lolla last year.

Ki-mani Marley or whoever that was opening for Van Halen this year.

Van Halen in 2004 - Eddie was so wasted he didn't even know what songs he was playing and his "solo" was nothing but one long feedback.

worst live band? megadeth, without a doubt. terrible. just terrible. avoid at all costs!

smashing pumpkins come a close second. miserable gits... 15 minutes of feedback isn't a great way to start your encore. however, 15 minutes of feedback is a great way to thin the crowd out early.

    1) Wu-Tang Clan 1996/97ish. I was and still am a Wu-tang fan. They're about the only rap group I can tolerate. I was highly disappointed with the show. We basically booed them of the stage. The only saving grace for that was Rage came out and played for an hour and a half straight and killed it. That's with Zack having broken his ankle the night before and still hoping arond like a mad man.

    2) Puddle of Mudd 2000-The only memory of this show that I have was the drummer breaking his drum stick, tossing it into the crowd, and it some how hitting my friend in the balls.

    3) Ozzy 2000-I don't think it helped his cause that I had just seen Pantera right before he came on to close Ozzfest. He just mumbled. Left after 6 songs and I had center stage tickets 10 rows back.

    4) Matchbox 20 2000/01-Long story that involved my friend, his sister, 7 of her very hot friends, and a limo. I was extremely intoxicated, thank god. They had someone shitty open for them too and for the life of me I can't remember. Just plain awful.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.

    1. Bob Dylan Summer 2005, Schaumburg, IL - He was really brutal, playing keyboards from the rear of the stage and sounding terrible. Willie Nelson opened the show and I gotta say, he was actually fantastic.

    2. Hootie and The Blowfish 1995 maybe? - I let the little head do the thinking for the big head and if I remember correctly we both were disappointed that night.

    3. U2 - 2004 or 2005 or 2006, cannot remember - my wife wanted to go, I bought two tickets in the fourth row from a reseller and we left about 2/3 through the show as I just couldn't take it any more.

    4. Hermans Hermits - they played at the park across the street from my college apartment and the AC was broke....we were forced to keep the windows open and this was what we heard....humiliating if you ask me.

    5. Cirque de Solie (sp) Beatles show - I hate the Beatles and again this was my wife's pick....paid hundreds of dollars for front row and kept vomitting in my mouth....I just didnt get the whole thing. Why did I go do you ask, because my wife was tired of watching me spend thousands on Rolling Stones and Pearl Jam tours that she asked to go see this and I happily obliged.
There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.

Faster Pussycat, Pretty Boy Floydd. Cardiff the Point, a few years back...yukky.

Will Young. Cardiff. wifes birthday present...she insisted I went along....awful.

Bob Dylan. Cardiff 2005...ok, but just not up to the mark.

Bon Jovi. Donington MOR Festival 1987..sick bag please.
I found the Leather boyz with electric toyz LP by Pretty Boy Floyd in a skip years ago. Figured it might be worth something :D Should be gathering dust in the attic somewhere.

Why even go with your wife. Didn't she have a friend that could have taken her to these shows. I mean I'm in the third deck for U2 and I hear a guy in the fourth row left early because he couldn't take it anymore. Just shocking.

And that Beatles show kicked ass. My GF and I loved it. Next time you get your wife such amazing tickets to something you don't like PM me and I can escort her to the show.

  • is it really that shocking that U2 sucks now?

i saw them, and all they did was stand there running through the motions, which was easy considering they play the same setlist every single night.

i get that they were huge in the late 80s/early 90s, but it's 2008 now and those songs deserve to either be played with some passion, or not at all.

    1. 5.12.07- Dave Bazan (of Pedro the Lion)- opened for Ben Gibbard with an hour and a half whiny-ass set

    2. 5.21.06- Depeche Mode- saw them from the lawn of a pavilion and left early

    3. 10.13.07- Ryan Adams and the Cardinals- played almost no hit songs, and just wanted to jam with his band

    4. 4.23.07- The Killers- i'm glad I saw them, but their stage presence cannot match their sound. Silver Beats, a Japanese Beatles cover band opened and they were awesome!

    5. 9.6.06- Snow Patrol- wouldn't have been as bad if they hadn't been plagued with technical difficulties for the entire night
