Damn, i''ve truly been deprived of good, quality music. Why did it take me this long to get into this band?!?! Uptown Avondale is one of the best albums i've ever heard. Listening to Gentlemen right now. Fuck this is good!

Yup, they were something special. And now? Now I'll link to this, before Facepollution gets the chance.

Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.0 -
I know this forum is full of Chris Cornell already, but if the man wants to fuse rock and RNB effectively, he should listen to the Afghan Whigs.0

Yep, I've said the same thing before. He should beg Greg Dulli to produce his next record.0 -
Hell, yeah. I'm shuffling through the whole catalogue on my ipod now.0

I'm sure you'll love the 1965 and Black Love albums too! If you like those albums, you'll probably really enjoy Twilight Singers and Gutter Twins http://www.sscollective.net/twins

Hey that's actually not a bad idea. CC voice with Dulli telling him what to do. Sounds awsome to me.0 -

You need to start listening to Lanegan and Dulli asap. You won't be disappointed. You can't really go wrong with either one but start with Black Love for the AW and maybe Bubblegum or Field Songs for Lanegan.0 -

This took me by surprise - I had no idea he'd been suffering from colon cancer. Very sad.eeriepadave said:

This is really sad news. Dave was a lovely guy and a great guitar player. I met him twice after Mark Lanegan shows and he was charming and funny each time.
I guess they new it was coming soon. After the benefit shows last year, he was too sick to go on the In Spades tour. Nice to see the new record was dedicated to him.
There have been some nice tributes posted so far - Joseph Arthur and John Curley were the first ones I saw.
