Everybody MUST listen to this album !
This band is fantastic. Their first album (the black room) was awesome, but the new one (an end has a start) is 10 times better...

if you're looking for something new to listen to, and if you don't know that band, get this album...
2006: Antwerp, Paris
2007: Copenhagen, Werchter
2009: Rotterdam, London
2010: MSG, Arras, Werchter
2012: Amsterdam, Prague, Berlin
2014: Amsterdam, Stockholm

I really like their latest single.

I listened to the second track on their Myspace, and found it fairly generic. I didn't have time with the rest but hopefully it matches the single...?

Yes, the album match the single (but there are a few songs I prefer to the single)
So, if you like the single, you'll love the album..

Its a pretty good record, better than the first I think. Still no Interpol though.

hmm, I don't fint them THAT different that you'd like one and not the other, but, to each their own ...

I think the new Editors' album is fantastic ... can't wait to see them at the Fillmore again in Sept!

I can't explain why I like so much editors and not that much interpol. For me, every interpol song is the same as their other songs. Editors' albums are awesome from the first second to the last one...

ehh.. hate to disagree so coldly but...

They're an extraordinarily generic and boring Interpol. And Interpol is no beacon of originality.

I like Editors...have been really liking the new album for about 3 weeks. Funny, it was the first thing I put on when I came to work this morn.

But I LOVE Interpol....have been loving the new album for almost as long. I've seen the twice this year and there's nothing generic about them to my ears; Our Love To Admire has such a larger and more lush sound to it.

    Quite an impressive thing.

I don't think it would be unfair to say that the editors are to interpol as the monkees were to the beatles.

Dharma: So the new interpol is good? I've got in on my ipod but haven't listened yet...

It works for me in spades, PJ, but then I'm a fan of the music. The opening track (Pioneer To The Falls) alone kills me; in typical interpol fashion, it's deep and chilly. Both shows that I saw they opened with that song and I loved it without knowing what the hell it was.

But then I'm a fan of the music. More attention to orchestration on this album. It might surprise you, it might not but give it a go and see what you think.

No, I'm a big interpol fan. I think they first two albums were just terrific. Got high hopes for the new one. :)

Did I mention that that was kinda funny?

Just thought I'd add that in there :).

im with you on that. turn on the bright lights is very good, but the back room is better. and the second interpol album was a total dud. i hear this one is slightly better, but when i previewed it hardly seemed like anything i needed to hear. then again, so did the editors album when i previewed it. im still undecided about buying it, though i do want to see them in september.

Don't bother. Just get the new Interpol.

If for some reason you like them when you see them live the album will always still be there.

i dont care for interpol. antics sucked. turn on the bright lights was good, but the back room was better. and the new editors single is much better than heinrich maneuver. i stumbled on the editors at the used shop for $9 so i grabbed it. we'll see how it sounds.

It sounds good....despite the moments of Coldplay-esqueness (and I have no care for Coldplay...snore), their sound is there. I'm not one of those who compares them to Interpol...I find the two sounds very distinct: Interpol, for their chimey, glassy guitars and oddly and sometimes methodically paced tunes; Editors for their warmer, fleshier sound.

I hope I get to see them both sometime this fall.

definitely better than interpol, I think, but in terms of interpol, I can't listen to a band in which the lead singer sings in the same monotone tone for every song.

This is my problem with Interpol.
The music is good, the production is good, but the way he sings is... well, monotone is the best word to define it

im more annoyed that he's from new york and tries to sound british ;)

ps. i only got to listen once last night but i liked it. they do have a much more lively sound than interpol, who are very clinical. after listening to this album, i liken them more to bloc party than interpol really.

No, your not listening! It's really not like that at all. Give them another try! Please! You will become addicted, i'm sure!

But on the subject of the Editors, they are so underrated! A great band and fantastic live!

Peronally, I've tried, often, to listen to entire albums of Interpol.
I've even bought their 3 albums.. I like kistening to 4 or 5 tracks but an entire album is too much for me.
I try and try, sure Interpol is a good band, but it doens't work for me like it works for you nad otehr addicted people...
