Random, odd, obvious, guilty pleasure, old, new, whatever. Name something you think is worth checking out.
Queen - A Night At The Opera: Definately steeped in the mid '70's, it's never the less ground breaking, versatile and interesting. If it was recorded with todays technology it would be absolutely mind boggling. Key track: "The Prophet's Song." Forget "Bohemian Rhapsody," this tune is the essential Queen.

The Rheostatics - Melville
The album is just a masterpiece. It's unfortunate that the Rheos are no more. What is even more unfotunate is that hardly anyone even knew about them.Cock Fight.0 -

Guilty pleasures? Linkin Park. Every morning I think about flogging myself because I like them, but then I just put on the new cd and, well, like it.
Favourite mature bands at the moment? Arcade Fire and Wintersleep.'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'

Check out the Burden Brothers. If you were a Toadies fan back in the day, it's Todd Lewis's new band. They have been around for about 5 years, and have 2 albums out. They are on a smaller independent label, but their albums are available nationwide or through the website.

There should be a jukebox player with song samples or http://www.myspace.com/burdenbrothers
hope you enjoy them.

I don't understand this type of thread at all. Every poster posts their favorite new album, but nobody actually looks at the other poster's reccomendations. It's a one way flow of information. It's a black hole. This thread is an ammo dump of albums and singles, I'm sorry to say.0
