I always liked listening to Belle & Sebastion in the fall. Particularly If You're Feeling Sinister.Charlotte 00 | Charlotte 03 | Asheville 04 | Atlanta 12 | Greenville 16 | Columbia 16 |Seattle 18 | Nashville 22 | Ohana Festival 24 x2 | Atlanta 25 x20

Black Love - Afghan Whigs. Hard to explain why, but it just fits that vibe I get this time of year. If you're not familiar with the band, download the song Crime Scene part One - absolutely INCREDIBLE.0 -
NIN always made me think of Fall and Winter...dont know whyShows:

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all0 -
These will get a lot of play this fall i'm thinking:
Radiohead - Kid A & In Rainbows
Ed Vedder - Into the Wild
Band of Horses - Cease to Begin
Do Make Say Think - Goodbye Enemy Airship....“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”0 -
I think the new album by The Walkmen will be a great fall album.
Otherwise, I really like folky/country influenced stuff for fall.
Jacksonville City Nights by Ryan Adams & the Cardinals is the perfect for October.0 -
for the past 12 years, the first one I put in is 10,000 Maniacs - Our Time in Eden. Not real sure why however it puts me in the greatest mood.0

Always has been Alice In Chains in the fall for me... In particular: Jar of Flies, and the Self-Titled.
That outro / bridge part of "Over Now" seems like it was made to sync with the wind and falling leaves.
Awesome stuff.0 -

My favorite is REM's New Adventures in Hi-Fi though.
Also: Gillian Welch - Time (The Revelator)
Ron Sexsmith - Whereabouts
Jeff Buckley - Grace
Joy Division - Closer
Natalie Merchant - Motherland
Oh, this list could go on. It's my favorite time of year, and the time I find music most evocative.0 -
i play ten a lot in the winter, mainly because i always remember about being back in school when the days got darker we used to just sit around and listen to ten, usually the winter brings about a lot of radiohead seether and jeff buckley, and a little bit of the beatles here and there0

and NIN like someone already mentioned... if i wanna go the more aggressive route
and the second half of binaural is PERFECT fall music
and "down on the upside"
been spinning alot of ray lamontagne lately too... not sure if theres a fall correlation there...
i guess i would say anything from the "grunge" movement just sounds more at home when its colder and rainier... thats why i love fall0 -
