He sounds amazing. Much better than he did in '06, imo. The setlist is better too - he busts out a lot of songs that he didn't last time around. The crowd is great as always...one of the most fun times I've ever had. He won't dissapoint.Pittsburgh 6/23/06

not sure if the chicago date has come and pass but i saw him last night in atlanta and it was a great show. As always he plays all the hits you want to hear.
He also played one Willbury's song and the highlight of the night i think it was the first time they did it on this tour they played two Mudcrutch songs from the new album

So then I should go see him next Tuesday in Sunrise??Conversations getting dull
There's a constant ringing in my ears
Sense of humor's void and numb
And I'm bored to tears.......0 -

I heard them from my porch last night, sounded pretty good does that count? It was live, but about a mile away and unfortunately I had no tickets. My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0

I do not live that close to Encore Park but i do live in the alpharetta area and I must say that place kicks the shit out of Lakewood. Thank god i did not have to drive all the way down to Lakewood to see petty. I actually noticed some townhomes across the street from the park i'm going to look into because it woudl be so awesome to live close like you do and be able to walk over to the show
As for Petty if you like Petty's stuff go see it the concert is so much fun. so many sing alongs you'll know 80 percent of the show even if you only know his radio hits!Charlotte 00 | Charlotte 03 | Asheville 04 | Atlanta 12 | Greenville 16 | Columbia 16 |Seattle 18 | Nashville 22 | Ohana Festival 24 x2 | Atlanta 25 x20 -
I'm seeing them on August 11th in Calgary. This will be my first time seeing Petty live and I'm really looking forward to the show."I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."

Saw him tuesday in Cinci and it was really fun as always with Petty. Steve Winwood is a awesome opening act too."If we werent all crazy we would go insane."0

Saw them in hartford a little while back. They played most of their hits some of tom's solo stuff and the great b-side, "sweet william".....which is quickly becoming one of my favorite petty songs."Everyone is a patriot in some form or another.... i prefer the intelligent ones."
"She fell funny"

Saw this show last night it Phoenix and it was great! Total crowd involvement, a lot of fun!0

Saw the two shows with Pearl Jam in St. Paul in 2006 and Petty/Winwood this month in Winnipeg. The 2008 show was significantly better than either of the 2006 shows I saw! Petty and the Heartbreakers are sounding great.“Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies — ‘God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.’” - Kurt Vonnegut0

They are sounding great this tour. I thought it was great when Steve Winwood came out and played a couple of songs with Tom and the band. Defiintely a concert that will never dissappoint.0

I saw (2) shows in Mansfield and Boston MA.
Boston was a much better show mainly because of Winwood combo songs.
I've seen him many times.
If you are looking for deep cuts, that is not happening anymore.
Pretty standard set now.
Mike Campbell does not jam nearly as much as in years past.
Still fun.
Seems like he is playing toward the young Super Bowl crowd.380 -

saw this tonight @ the outside Lands Festival here in SF ...
Petty brought Winwood on stage and they did a few of Winwood's pre-solo tunes ... Blind Faith's - Can't Fine My Way Home and Spencer Davis Group's - Gimme Some Lovin' ...
I kid you not when I say this was one of the top 5 musical highlights from all the concerts I've been to in the last 5-7 years ... Steve Winwood sounded *amazing*.
Petty was on top of his game. Great time."You're one of the few Red Sox fans I don't mind." - Newch91
"I don't believe in damn curses. Wake up the damn Bambino and have me face him. Maybe I'll drill him in the ass." --- Pedro Martinez0 -
Have heard from several friends who saw him early in the tour that he was not to be missed this time around. Looking forward to seeing him in Dallas tomorrow night.
