I know. It's very eery isn't it?
The sky above was crying the day we lost this talented, haunted man.
SUCH a tragic loss. I miss this face, this voice.

Yeah, they found him later in April. They learned from the autopsy that he had died April 5th and had been there for two weeks.http://www.myspace.com/dgulley

I'm so grateful for all that was left behind. AIC is (imo) without a doubt one of the greatest bands EVER. So much love for this man & AIC! I truely hope he's at peace now.¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤

Yeah, I put it in Other Music first. Then I realized that Other Music doesn't get as much traffic as The Porch. AIC is very well related to Pearl Jam.http://www.myspace.com/dgulley

He also said, "I choose the day, one damp and gray." on GET BORN AGAIN and he said, "Slow suicide is no way go." on WAKE UP from the Mad Season album.
I am a huge aic fan, formerly obsessed; after he died I couldn't listen to his music for about two months. It was just too sad and ironic.bombs, dropping down, please forgive our hometown0 -
I hear ya reversedarwinism. It's the same way with Kurt too...especially on frickin In Utero which can be easily interpreted as one giant, 41 minute long suicide note. The album (while it's one of my favs of all time) is very disturbing in parts.
The lyrics from both these tourtured souls just dig way deep...even more so after the inevitable, tragic losses. They all ring way too true. It's indeed difficult to listen to at times. Very haunting, erry and ironic. That's one of the many things I love about them both though...so real. No candy coating going on here. These words, these emotions, this pain & darkness was straight from the heart & soul. ¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤

Thats really strange, I've been listening to AIC a lot recently, and I just looked up all of the same stuff today and yesterday.you couldn't swing if you were hangin' from a palm tree in a hurricane.0

Whats really weird is that Kurt and Layne died on the same day 8 years apart.32 shows and counting...0

Wow, that is eery that it rained when he died...but in a way it doesn't surprise me for some reason. Either way, I'm glad Alice in Chains is starting to get more recognition these days!"Darth Vader would say 'Impressive'."

I heard they found maggots and shit crawling all through him when he died. have you guys heard anything like that? It is the saddest story................ I truely love AIC and I wish they could still grace us with beautiful music. It is really weird that it really did rain when he died and that he and Kurt died on the same day. I wish I could hear a Kurt/Layne duet. RIP Kurt & Layne"when the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will be at peace"-Jimi Hendrix0

I read somewhere that when the police and a family member went to his house to find him, he was unrecognizable. It doesn't take long for the body to start decomposing by itself.http://www.myspace.com/dgulley

is it so strange for it to rain in april in seattle.
i found layne's death particular sad, him dying alone, as junkies often do, but also cause of the time it took for him to be found. he didn't want anyone around, i can understand that. and it was a slow suicide. i don't know if he wanted to die, but i get the feeling that he didn't want to live. or was at least ambivalent about it. well now he gets to sit in that angry chair but i hope he at least found that serenity.
seattle. junkie. child of divorce.
i won't be drawn into eerie parallels.hear my name

One of my favorite AIC songs. I love the intro. I remember a few years back my buddies and i were going to see a JErry show it was to be our third and on our way to the concert we were all like man jerry always plays a few AIC songs but he has never played rain when i die wish he would play that one....
He closed the night out with Rain when i die at that show only time i've seen it live it was awesome
