Listening to Husker Du's Eight Miles High right now, hopefully soon to be listened to on lovely 7" vinyl thanks to our very own Trixie"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0 -

I got the first 3 Rainbow albums on cd today...that's as obscure as I go. I fight for the honour of classic rock to the death....I laugh in the face of being labelled a cheese lover!....Take a truck load of Husker Du, or them Arsehole surfers if you like, I'll keep my Rainbow albums anyday.

Even at their most punk, they were just hiding 60s pop songs under tons of distortion. I mean, watch this:

Nothing weird about them. I dislike the Butthole Surfers too. I'm actually opposed to weird-for-the-sake-of-weird music, believe it or not."I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0
