ALL Nickelback songs sound the same.0 -
Nirvana ''smell like teen spirit'' and ''more than a feeling'' of Boston......
Nirvana ''heart shaped box'' and ''dont look to the lies of a stranger'' of Iron maiden
Metallica ''seek and destroy'' and ''the nightcomers'' of the Holocaust
The who ''baba o riley'' and ''hungry for heaven'' by Dio
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3O4WBnTav2U
Iron maiden ''infinite dreams'' and Papa roach ''last resort''
Kiss ''warm machine'' and ''sex type thing'' of STP
Metallica ''bad seed'' and ''your time has come'' of Audioslave

Jeremy1012 wrote:The intro to PJ's long road ALWAYS reminds me of Heroin by the VU
yes, totally. that is a great one0 -
The bassline in Fugazi's "Burning" and PJ's "Satan's Bed" sound the same to me.
Also, the Beatles' "Ob-la-di Ob-la-da" sounds kinda like the Offspring's "Why Don't You Get A Job"...I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.0 -
Let's see:
Breakerfall is the most Whoish thing PJ has done, I can't pinpopint one song it sounds like but it sounds like the riff was taken from Trick of the Light (which is admittedly is terrible song with one awesome riff).
Soon Forget and Blue Red and Grey: obvious
Do the Evolution ---> The Last Time (Rolling Stones)
Big Wave ----> Never Named (SG)
Long Road (w/ Matt)----> Like Suicide (SG)----> Jenny (Sleater Kinney)
I Got Shit----> Cinnamon Girl
Sad----> [Doesn't sound like any specific Sleater Kinney song, but it sounds like Ed was listening to The Hot Rock album when he wrote it]
Far Behind----> We Got A Hit (the Who)
Yellow Ledbetter----> Little Wing (obviously)0 -

Love the signature. One of my favorite Lebowski lines.I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.0 -
I'm surprised how much this:

sounds like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rnIuow93vo'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'

Carribbean Queen by Billy Ocean and Billie Jean by Michael Jackson
And when Hell's Bells comes on the radio, I always expect to hear For Whom the Bell Tolls"I'll ride the wave where it takes me"0 -

Breakerfall = I Can See For Miles
nicely spotted for Far Behind, hadnt noticed that one0 -
I always thought this was a blatant bit of musical thievery! Well the opening part at least......

The Coral - Dreaming of You
Beatles - You Like Me Too Much
Both have verses with Am and F in similar styles. Both have chorus of G and C (albeit the opposite ways round). It'd be blatent ripping off if it wasn't such a common progression.
Radiohead - Wolf at the Door
Beatles - Because
Thought I'd say that before anyone else brings it up, although it's not really ripping off since Radiohead are pretty open about reusing Beatles riffs.Paul

Queen's goes:
ding ding ding da da ding ding, ding ding ding ding da da ding ding
and Ice's goes:
ding ding ding da da ding ding, ding DING ding ding da da ding ding
It's not the same.
I love that you remember the EXACT thing that Vanilla Ice said about that, including the "it's not the same" thing. Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?0 -

elmer wrote:Errr, probably yeah. Didn't have the album at hand, checked track listings, knew it was one of the slower numbers. sorry.
you know James Dean Bradfield actually covered Last Christmas on TFI Friday? I think the similarities on This is Yesterday were intentional."I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0 -

Saw them at Wembley Arena in 98, was in December and they ended with Last Christmas. When I pointed out the possible origin to my mate who was a major MSP fan he was "hmmm, huh, well....." , just didn't wanna accept it.0 -
Check this one:
Timbaland '' the way i are'' and salt and pepa ''push it''
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ivy1U4H2KVQ&feature=related
everyone knows that the melody to Way I Are is blatant Push-It. the hip hop it's totally fake.....
WIKIPEDIA.ORG writes:
Often "samples" consist of one part of a song, such as a break, used in another, for instance the use of the drum introduction from Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks" in songs by the Beastie Boys, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mike Oldfield, Rob Dougan and Erasure, and the guitar riffs from Foreigner's "Hot Blooded" in Tone-Loc's "Funky Cold Medina".
In 2005, music blog Library of Vinyl Experience compiled sample frequency data obtained from the sample database The Sample FAQ. The goal was to determine what year was “The Funkiest Year Ever” by counting the number of times samples from a particular year were used in hip hop songs. The bulk of the samples used in hip hop were from the years 1970-1975, the most being 872 different songs from 1973, making it “The Funkiest Year Ever”. Some of 1973s most sampled songs include: The Incredible Bongo Band’s “Apache”, which was sampled 45 times, Barry White’s “I’m Gonna Love You Just a Little More, Babe”, which was sampled 33 times, Kool and the Gang’s “Jungle Boogie”, which was sampled 45 times, and The Honey Drippers' “Impeach the President”, which was sampled 115 times.[1]0
