Who's a fan here?

I think the track "three days" alone makes them one of the best rock bands ever, that bassline is crazy!

    nothing's shocking and ritual de lo are both decent records. JA is a solid band.

    I bought ritual and nothing really blew my mind at first except Three Days. that track was worth the price alone. the bass, as you mention, is amazing, the guitar solos are all brilliant and even farrell's voice is likeable (and I normally find it the only problem with jane's).

    I like the whole record now though. also, Jane Says is a great song.

    I remember seeing them play at Lolla a few years ago in atlanta. During their set a huge thunderstorm moved in and it started to pour.

    During the middle of the solo the lightening got really intense and it seemed navarro was playing off of it. It was a great concert experience. Many people ran becasue it was almost the end of hte show anyway and it was coming down really hard. My friends and i stayed though in the pouring rain and it was well worth it.

    One of my all-time favorite bands.

    Following "Three Days" w/ "And Then She Did" is an unbelievable 1-2 punch.

    First band i ever got in to: REM (still a close 2nd favorite)

    Second band: GnR

    Third band: Jane's Addiction

    Fourth: Pearl Jam


    Jane's remains somewhere up there in my list of influences.
    Perry's screaching melody lines, and his sassy soul on numbers like Would For YOu ... along with Navarro's kick ass wailing guitar lines and Steve's absolutely amazing drumming ... how can you go wrong !?!

    Yes, i loved Jane's, and am sad to say i passed on opportunities to see any of the reunion shows (for fear i would be dissapointed) ... [i was 11 when JA broke up originally]

    The second P4P album is amazing as well, though nothing compared to jane's (all though the mixing and production may top anything on the jane's albums)

    I love Jane's... Nothing's Shocking and Ritual are two of alternative rock's greatest gems.....i seen a DVD from 1990 recently.. and wow... they were amazing live as well. Their sound really is timeless.. hoping perry covers some janes at lolla!

    Just wondering who liked the Strays album? I got into Jane's Addiction during the 90's, and wasn't sure if i'd like that album, but it really grew on me. Nothing compared to nothing's shocking and Ritual, but still i thought it rocked..

    Did anyone of the young members here first get into JA through the Strays album?

    I haven't got Strays but I'd like to. Nothing's Shocking and Ritual De Lo Habitual are both pretty good albums but Farrell's voice really does put me off listening to them at times.

    I can see that.

    I actually love his voice though. Although I also love Geddy Lee's voice too. And a lot of people hate it.

    i LOVE Jane's. Nothing's Shocking and Ritual are amazing. Kettle's Whistle is good too. didn't care for Strays as much because i thought it was good background music but when i actually sat and listened to the songs they weren't that great. Three Days, Mountain Song, Ocean Size, Ted Just Admit It, Classic Girl, Stop!, Slow Divers, even that Dead song Ripple that they covered was good! great band.

    Jane's is one of my all time favorite bands. The Navarro/Avery/Perkins combination ranks up there with Zeppelin for ass kicking musicianship in my opinion. I listened to Nothing's Shocking every single day for about an entire year in high school. Three Days is the definition of an epic rock song.

    While Strays doesn't rank with the early Jane's stuff, it was still a damn fine rock album with some fantastic guitar work. I missed Avery's bass lines on it, though.

    I like both the Porno for Pyros albums. The first one is really good psychedelic funk rock with wicked guitar and the second has some great songwriting and exotic sounds. Pete Distefano is a severely underrated guitar player.

    I also highly reccommend the Deconstruction album, though it's kind of hard to find these days. It's Eric Avery and Dave Navarro right after Jane's broke up. Really good stuff.

    They put on one of the best shows I ever saw.

    You gotta be fucking kidding me.. Check the above post, from about half an hour ago.. Three Days is DEFINITELY one of my favorite songs of all time, period.. Regardless of genre.. And other than the waaaaaaay played out "Been Caught Stealin'", the rest of the CD is kick fucking ass.. Side two always rules...
