candlebox is back together... they made a new CD and Dave Krusen is drumming on the album. Apparently they are going to tour... never was a huge fan but i'd be interested to see them live.

They have announced two festival dates so far - http://www.myspace.com/candlebox0

I saw them play with the flaming lips opening for them back in hmm I wanna say 1994. They put on a good show back then, it would be interesting to see how they are over a decade later.. AND with dave krusen drumming. fancy that!0

I would like to see them as well. I really liked their first album a lot.I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.0

I just heard today Candle Box will play a free concert in Raleigh NC this summer. Part of Down Town Live, last year Violent Femmes and Cake Played free shows. Not A bad deal if your in the area.8/18/92, 9/16/95, 8/28/98, 8/29/98, 9/1/00, 9/2/00, 4/15/03, 7/1/03, 5/30/06......0

"they made a new CD and Dave Krusen is drumming on the album."
that's actually incorrect...there hasn't been a new record recorded (or even written), and it's actually the original lineup that is back together (meaning scott mercado on drums, not krusen).www.candleboxrocks.com0 -

That would be sweet. I'm moving back to VA in July and my parents live in Greensboro (actually Kernersville but nobody knows where that is) so I would probably be able to make it. Good news.I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.0 -

never really got into them too much... oh sure, i bought their debut and listened to it a bunch, but they really did not sound like any of the other seattle bands from that era, which is what i had been hoping for when i read about them. i don't dislike them, but they just didn't bring anything new to the table...
some very catchy tunes on their debut though. if they came to phoenix and they had krusen drumming, i'd go. but only to see krusen... i saw them open for rush in early 94 and they sounded good, except the singer sang a bunch of the songs very differently, most notably 'You'... i am a drummer, and i remember thinking that their drummer had his cymbals choked... meaning they didn't move much when he hit them. he had them secured really tightly onto the stands... i remember thinking, 'this guy must break a ton of cymbals'...
anyway, that's my two cents. i wish them the best, but unless they do a free concert here in phoenix, i will not lose sleep over missing them.Mesa 11/7/93 - Charlotte 10/4/96 - DC 6/14/98 - Raleigh 8/31/98 - Knoxville 9/6/98 - Columbia MD 9/18/98 - DC 9/19/98 - Columbia MD 9/4/00 - Phoenix 10/21/00 - Raleigh 4/15/03 - Phoenix 6/7/03 - Philadelphia 5/27&28/06 - DC 5/30/06 - Las Vegas 7/6/06 - San Diego 7/7/06 - LA 7/9&10/06 - Gorge 7/22&23/06 - Chicago 8/5/07 - PJ20 9/3&4/11 - Jacksonville 11/24/12 (EV) - Orlando 11/27/12 (EV) - Brooklyn 10/18&19/13 - Charlotte 10/30/13 - Memphis 10/14/14 - Ft Lauderdale 4/8/16 - Miami 4/9/16 - Jacksonville 4/13/16 - Hampton 4/18/16 - Chicago 8/20&22/160 -

Cool! Love these guys. I listened the shit out of their first record as a teenager. Have struggled a bit to get into their later catalog, just doesn't give me the same 'feels' like the earlier stuff, but am always up for a new listen!

First album is great, never gave me anything after worth hearing after it IMO. But that first album, is as good a debut, as a band could want
