BeerBaron wrote:That's a stretch. These shows were sold, not only throught the 10C but through Ticketmaster as Eddie Vedder shows - not Pearl Jam shows. There is no way they could just all of the sudden say that these shows are now full band Pearl Jam shows.
I think people are reading a lot in to this April Fools thing. Maybe I am wrong here, cause I don't know any more than you know what is going to be announced.
I just think that is a stretch...
Perhaps I should clarify my above statement:rhinomagic wrote:I'm not certain these West Coast shows were ever planned to be Ed solo shows ONLY.
I believe there will be an Ed solo element to them, but the PJ camp couldn't publicize the band's involvement until now. Thus, the name of the tour...
Of course, I'm not any better informed than 95% of us here. Just speculating.

I am going to keep checking every half hour today.
I am worried I will miss something that might be Vic tickets on sale in 5 minutes!!! and then I will be pissed.
Kind of like the HOB Katrina Benefit that sold tickets for face value."All the money you make will never buy back your soul" Bob Dylan

I dont think they'd willfully distort facts like that though. Seems to me that they'd make themselves liable legally as well if they tricked the system like this.
But overall, the thing about the 6 week window makes lots of sense.I think the most likely scenario is that they'll annouce a tour of some kind today.Well, do you need a lot of what you've got to survive?0 -

Now it's official, guys. We're going crazy here
But no matter what they annouce or dont annouce today,I just like those days when the board is buzzing like this and everybody is in a festive moodWell, do you need a lot of what you've got to survive?0 -

My understanding of the law is that the aggrieved party (or claimant) would have to suffer damages of some kind to hold the 10c or the band "legally liable" - what damages would anyone have suffered if they announced the band was touring with Ed OR if they "decided to come along"? Bonaroo didn't have to compete with PJ tour sales during the contractual window and ? Fans who "would have gone if they had known, didn't get tickets"...not sure you've got much of a cause of action there.0 -
This is terrible. I can't even function. My iphone has become dedicated to checking the boards every 5 minutes.0

Just seems to me that if Bonaroo has the band sign a contract that they cant announce any of their own tours within a 6 week window (which the leading theory here seems to be) and they proceed to announce an EV solo tour, wait out the 6 week window and then change it to be a PJ tour, that would not be in keeping with said contract.Well, do you need a lot of what you've got to survive?0 -
I highly doubt the ed solo shows are PJ shows.

Ok...I guess we have to see the contract - my earlier point was simply, if PJ didn't compete with Bonaroo during the window, how did the festival suffer any material damages?0 -

I wonder if Wilco fans complain when Tweedy goes solo. I know I didn't. I was so excited to be able to see him alone. I am excited about Ed going out on his own and playing what will be amazing shows.
Pearl Jam is not playing and that is okay. They will be here soon.'96 - 10/5
