By the the last 20years I mean the best since Joy Division & The Smiths were around. Nearly all of my favourite albums in this period are american which has led me into asking.......................for me its a task to consider this question,,,,,,,,hmmm?
Tricky....Maxinquaye
The La's
Massive Attack......Blue Lines
....................these are the only obvious two that stick out for me, the Tricky record standing as one of my all-time favourites. I suppose I'd include a couple Radiohead and im sure there may be one or two just hiding from me in my head but still it seems a paltry number unless I include those than I enjoyed for moments in time(like oasis and all)

I say Oasis' entire catalogue and certain Blur albums.I've faced it, a life wasted, and I'm never going back again.

Well, I grew up with this stuff, so naturally I'm biased, but I would consider these albums great, due to their influence on me:
Oasis - Definitely Maybe, What's The Story
Pulp - Different Class
Blur - Parklife
Supergrass - I Should Coco
Radiohead - The Bends
Ash - 1977
Gene - Olympian
Stereophonics - Word Gets Around
Placebo - Placebo (does this count as British?!
)
Muse - Showbiz
Feeder - Polythene
Super Furry Animals - Radiator
... there are more but I think that'll do for now. It's fair to say that British music has been fairly strong over the last ten years or so.0 -

I would go with some Porcupine Tree stuff, for sure.
Mojo"A consistently good band works all the different elements well. A song has to appeal sentimentally, intellectually, physically, viscerally, and dig deep down into your soul and suck you into it. And after that, of course, it'd be a matter of taste." ~ Kim Thayil from Soundgarden0
