Saw them live in London last Thursday night, very enjoyable all but 1 song (80 Windows) were from the last 3 albums and the final song they played 'Blankest Year' loads of people (including myself) got on stage and danced/moshed with the band, a cool moment.

'Let Go' remains my favourate record by them, but new one 'Lucky' i believe is slightly better than 'Proximity Effect' and 'The Weight Is A Gift'. Gotta be honest and say I don't like 'High/Low' much at all.

this record has really grown on me, as the best ones always do. another great piece of indie pop-rock masterstry, sits perfectly next to let go & weight. especially love whose authority, are you lightning & see these bones.

it's a shame more people don't get to hear this band

Completely agree. I think all people need to do is see them in the live setting, I don't see how you couldn't be hooked after seeing them. They're flawless in the live setting.

Yeah, the new record is growing on me more everyday too. btw, They just announced a handful of new tour dates the other day.

If i'm lucky, i'll catch them in Jacksonville, Orlando, and Miami, and that's just a week before PJ in WPB. It's gonna be a helluva summer.

I just got back...Every show was awesome! The setlists dont vary much, but they sound incredible. Also, the opening band, Republic Tigers were really good. I bought their CD after the show.

Also, I hear something last night really cool about the guys in Nada Surf. There were a few girls who were under 18 and really wanted to see them, however it was an 18 snd older show. These girls didnt realize it and got turned away at the door. When they left, one of them had big old tears and started crying. The guys in the band heard about it, came out and invited them to the back alley of the venue (shady, btw!) where they played them a short acoustic set. Against the rules of the club, they couldnt risk letting the girls in, so they took their alternative and gave them a little something acoustic. Fuck yeah!

Cool story. Although I'm not at all surprised, they're very nice and gracious gentlemen.

i disagree. i fell in love with their sound on the records, but when i saw them live felt that it just wasn't as good as i'd hoped for. i will say that it was a very fun, very entertaining show, and i had a great time; i just think that on record some of their songs are pop masterpieces and live they are just another garage/rock song. that's just my opinion though :)

i think they are great. i love every album, even their "rarities" collection north 6th street. in my opinion they only have a few songs that i don't care for. as a matter of fact i am seeing them this saturday in st. louis. they are super nice, the most down to earth band that i have ever met. i have seen them 8 or 9 times and have gotten to hang out with them before and/or after each show.

a few years ago they played at a casino here and after the show we were all drinking our asses off and playing blackjack and daniel was losing his ass. he gave me $50 in chips and said "win it back for me" and i was like "dude, i can't gamble with your money" and he said something to the effect that "its cool, its on the label" or its part of his per diem or something. i was up a little then bet big and lost $30 of the original $50. i apologized and gave him the rest of the change. that was a pretty cool night.

by the way, i second the posters that said are you lightning was an amazing song. that song and hyperspace and see these bones are my favoites of theirs at the moment.

"See these Bones" is incredible live when all three of them are singing different stuff.
They played it acoustic too at an orlando local CD store pre-show acoustic set which they said will be available sometime soon...i dont know if that means to buy or just download.

didn't know they had an album coming out early next year. New song sounds good. Def. has some "Popular" vibes in it with the spoken parts
