Black Love - Afghan Whigs. Hard to explain why, but it just fits that vibe I get this time of year. If you're not familiar with the band, download the song Crime Scene part One - absolutely INCREDIBLE.

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all
Radiohead - Kid A & In Rainbows
Ed Vedder - Into the Wild
Band of Horses - Cease to Begin
Do Make Say Think - Goodbye Enemy Airship....
Otherwise, I really like folky/country influenced stuff for fall.
Jacksonville City Nights by Ryan Adams & the Cardinals is the perfect for October.
That outro / bridge part of "Over Now" seems like it was made to sync with the wind and falling leaves.
Awesome stuff.
definitely.
To keep you clear of the sun
You've been burned more than once
You don't think much of trust
Can't think of much else
My favorite is REM's New Adventures in Hi-Fi though.
Also: Gillian Welch - Time (The Revelator)
Ron Sexsmith - Whereabouts
Jeff Buckley - Grace
Joy Division - Closer
Natalie Merchant - Motherland
Oh, this list could go on. It's my favorite time of year, and the time I find music most evocative.
and NIN like someone already mentioned... if i wanna go the more aggressive route
and the second half of binaural is PERFECT fall music
and "down on the upside"
been spinning alot of ray lamontagne lately too... not sure if theres a fall correlation there...
i guess i would say anything from the "grunge" movement just sounds more at home when its colder and rainier... thats why i love fall

jackson browne-running on empty
the shins-oh inverted world
bob seger-greatest hits
grateful dead-american beauty
Oh yes, definitely Parachutes. I really think "Mer De Noms" by A Perfect Circle is a great fall album.. Guster is good pretty much all year.. "Takk..." by Siggy Rós is a great walking in the fall album... and some John Mayer as well.

Ah yes, the quintessential Autumn song - and my favourite Cornell song ever
Other choices for me are:
REM - Automatic For The People
Ryan Adams and The Cardinals - Cold Roses
Arcade Fire - Funeral
Pearl Jam - No Code
Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska
