I know what you mean about being biased, i always like seeing Glasgow bands doing well, and there are quite a few at the moment who have a lot of potential. I met a couple of the guys dykeenies ages ago and they were sound, hopefully goes well for them.
Thats the video for new ideas - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxtXgKepIAc

I hate Chelsea dagger, think my favourite song by theirs is Got My nuts From a Hippy.
I was talking to a guy who said his friend worked in a place that the Fratelli's played in quite a lot before they made it big, and he said that out of all the local bands he'd seen coming up, he thouhgt they were the least likely to get anywhere! Theyd been plugging away for ages and ages apparently and nothing was happening, then creeping up the backstair became very popular and they took off.People say im paranoid. Well, they dont say it, but i know that's what they are thinking.0 -

Oh dear god no, and luke pritchard the singer is a plonker.
Ive gone off both the fratellis and the kooks completely after getting their albums, although i think the fratellis are just bearable, aside from chelsea dagger.People say im paranoid. Well, they dont say it, but i know that's what they are thinking.0 -
Sawyer wrote:it seems the kooks are a love them or hate them band over there.....was is this? too much hype?
I dont think they recieved all that much hype at when i first started listening to them, which was over a year ago. They are on the radio quite a lot now, and their videos are on the music channels all the time. I think they are ok, but find them a bit boring. There are a couple of decent tracks i like, eddies gun and sofa song, but find it all sounding the same really.People say im paranoid. Well, they dont say it, but i know that's what they are thinking.0 -

The Fratellis will headline this years T in the Park0 -
I think they are really good. My fiance's cousins manage and produce their music through numb music. We are meeting them in NY for a couple of shows at the end of the month. Should be a great time. Creepin up the backstairs is a rockin tune and I cant wait to hear that live...0

Costello Music is great.
Flathead E.P just released in the U.S.
Seeing them live is a must, Chelsea Dagger is fun at gigs!
yep, i agree Chelsea Dagger is a good song!
hmm...i think they're playing in London this weekend...or soon. not entirely sure cause i read it from some guys bulletin in myspace0 -
Chelsea Dagger isn't a song, it's an effing chant. I much prefer Maxïmo Park out of all these 'choppy indie' bands. That said, I could just listen to Gang of Four, I supposeToo many cowboys, not enough indians, so just go ape shit!
I may be boring but at least I'm not Jack fucking Johnson.
TV is such shit; let's go outside and ride bicycles, right now!
Madrid 07/09/06 - Little mofo'ing Wing!!!
Wembley 06/18/07 - Speechless

Just downloaded Costello Music off iTunes. This band is very catchy and infectious, and reminds me of a combination of the shins, the clash, the beatles, and many others all blended into one. Great music.2003 Mansfield III
