Olympic Platinum??

A buddy made me an mp3 of this track about 10 years ago; always loved the song.

I don't imagine there are different versions of it, but when I listen to it on headphones especially, seems like the sound quality isn't that great (scratchy, weird fuzz/feedback).

So my question is: was the sound quality any better on the original christmas single release? Or is this as good as I'm gonna find?

    the sound on the original 45 was crystal clear. sounds to me like your buddy had some issues converting, or had a crappy turntable
