Anybody like these guys?
I just got the album with Blizzard of 77, and it seems awesome throughout.
Anybody suggest what to get next?
How are they live?
Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)

I would go with The Proximity Effect next. It's more "rock" than their latest album, The Weight is a Gift.

They're really fabulous live and are a bunch of great guys. I'm looking forward to the new album and a tour.

They have a live dvd....pretty good stuff. They´re just not too cool, pretty gayish unfortunately.

I like them a lot. I never really got into the proximity effect. I loved the weight is a gift, though.

I've seen them live a few times and I always enjoy their shows. :)

Popular is the best song of all time, but haven't listened to any of their other stuff.

Popular is awesome but the rest of that record is total crap, one of the worst/most boring cd's that I own

one of my fav bands, weight is a gift is a cool record but let go is soemthing else. the early albums are wicked too, but a little different than the last couple. high/low is a fucking great alternative pop rock album.

Fucking great? I thought that every single song was filler besides Popular.

granted popular is the stand out and the rest isn't exactly beethoven but nor are they attempting to be. songs like the plan, treehouse, icebox, psychic caramel are all catchy pop rock tunes. if you want to hear a more mature & complete nada surf check out let go.

New album "Lucky" will be streaming on their myspace page starting tomorrow.

I've had the pleasure of hearing this album already. Another great effort in my opinion, right up there with Let Go and The Weight is a Gift.
  • "Let Go" is definitely their best album.

Their new album, "Lucky", is really boring.

Their new album is so good. I was surprised. 'Are you Lightning' is a gorgeous song.

well nothing touches Let Go in my opinion. I think I like it better than The Weight is a Gift though.

I cant wait for this new one either.
Since I started this thread, I picked up all the albums except the one with Popular. In the Mirror off the the Weight is A Gift became the anthem of 2007 for me.

Also, I was lucky enough to see them in St Augustine back in October - they were kick ass live!

hopefully they'll put out a dvd or something one day.

  • Thoughts on the new record?

I really wasn't too jazzed about it at first. But now it's really really growing on me. Weightless is a favorite right now.

I just realized that all of their records take a while to grow on me...but then I love them so much once I connect with them!!

It's great, probably my number two behind Let Go.

Are You Lightning is still my fav off of it since my first listen.

This band is really so great in the live setting as well. They sound absolutely perfect. Saw them perform most of the new album in NYC earlier this month and it sounds great.

Yeah, they are great live. I'm planning to catch them here in Philly in April.
