ok now I know a ton of you guys out there love the Boss and might just have a way for me to get my grubby little hands on some of the thousands of legendary boots. If you could help me out I would be greatly appreciated and would offer whatever I have as a thanks. I don't know where to look and a link or point in the right direction wouyld be cool. be a begger I must chose better quality over better show and a darkness era boot would be the best but I don't want to come off as anymore wanting than that. so thanks in advance and PM me if you think it's too touchy to post

I've had the album 'Nabraska' for years, and always loved it. More recently I bought 'The wild, the innocent and the E Street shuffle', absolutely fantastic.
I'm just wondering which Bruce album I should go for next? Considering I really don't like the 'Born In The USA', 'Dancing In The Dark', 'Born To Run' kinda stuff he did. Prefer the grittier style.Cymru Am Byth

Born in the USA and born to run are as gritty as stadium rock songs can be.pirlo21 wrote:I've had the album 'Nabraska' for years, and always loved it. More recently I bought 'The wild, the innocent and the E Street shuffle', absolutely fantastic.

Born in the USA has good songs but they are hidden away behind crap production and way too much keyboards, Born to Run however is the highlight of his career, only Darkness comes close. But if by grittier you mean quiet then check out the river, while half of it is a real upbeat rock and roll record the other half (title track, wreck on teh highway and a few others) are what I think you are describing"I'm not suicidal, except when I drink. I think you got confused, I was saying that those songs are good but too stadium-y, much like you. Having said that, I think they are totally brilliant and I don't even mind the production. you can't get around the fact that Born in the USA (the song, not the album) is about as gritty a straight-ahead rock song there has ever been.mrwalkerb wrote:Born in the USA has good songs but they are hidden away behind crap production and way too much keyboards, Born to Run however is the highlight of his career, only Darkness comes close. You know I think I quoted the wrong person, I didn't mean your definition of gritty I meant pirlo21's definition of gritty, the way he described nebraska etc. But to address your comments I can't get around the production on that record, aside from I'm on fire and the title track (which I do love as a rock song and maybe even more when it's the acoustic version) the album just isn't enjoyable for me."I'm not suicidal, except when I drink. If you like Darkness you'll be down with Born to run and some songs on the River, I like the River but find it a little all over the placve in terms of mood, disc two is good in a total downer kind of way."I'm not suicidal, except when I drink.
