i love that record.

They seem to be doing this to all of their records so far, and they seem to be worth the upgrade, Slanted and Enchanted and Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain have like a zillion bonus tracks...."As long as the music's loud enough, we won't hear the world falling apart."—Jubilee
"I'm not a very good American because I like to form my own opinions." - George Carlin0 -
I think Wowee Zowee is my favorite Pavement record. The S & E and Cr, Cr reissues were amazing with all the bonus tracks and live stuff....I'm really looking forward to this one.
Now if Matador could reissue some of those GBV records........"What’s Orphans? I don’t know. Orphans is a dead end kid driving a coffin with big tires across the Ohio River wearing welding goggles and a wife beater with a lit firecracker in his ear." - Tom Waits0 -
The other two Pavement reissues were some of the best reissues I have ever seen... I am totally psyched for this... I suppose since this makes 3 of the 5 Pavement records, do you think they might just go ahead and do Brighten the Corners and Terror Twilight as well? The Man has a branch office in each of our brains, his corporate emblem is a white albatross, each local rep has a cover known as the Ego, and their mission in this world is Bad Shit.0

maybe Brighten the Corners but I dunno about Terror Twilight. TT isn't really old enough to warrant a reissue.
I hope they do though. I LOVE that record. it has some of my favorite Pavement songs.....Carrot Rope, Spit on a Stranger, Major Leagues....."What’s Orphans? I don’t know. I'm so hoping for a Brighten the Corners reissue. It's my all-time favorite by Pavement."I wanna believe in the mercy of the world again."

doctors leaving for the holiday season
Got crystal ice picks, no gift for the gab
And in the parking lots --is the sedan he bought?
He never, he never complains when it's hot
He phoned the fallen daughter in the sauna playing contract bridge
They're soaking up the fun or doing blotters
I don't know which ..which...which...
Boys are dying on these streets
I know the medical world could knock you out
To sell the coins that you jayed last thursday
Dine by candelight and hold your savings tight
You never, you never know when the bridge falls apart
We spoke of latent causes sterile gauzes
And the bedside morale
We traipse around the table talking sentences
So incomplete... please! plea!
Boys are dying on these streets...lay down all thoughts; surrender to the void

"We Dance" is the most beautiful Pavement song....ever.
There is no castration fear
In a chair
You will be
With me
We'll dance
We'll dance
We'll dance
We'll dance...
But no one will dance with us
In this zany town
Chim chim chim sing a song of praise
For your elders
They're in the back
Pick out some Brazilian nuts for your engagement
Check that expiration date man it's later than you think
You can't enjoy yourself, I can't enjoy myself
You can't enjoy yourself, I can't enjoy myself
Move that swing and watch it break straight like an arc
But I won't be there to leave you
Uhh, uhh, uhh
'Cause I don't have a clue anymore
Maybe we can dance
Maybe we can dance
Maybe we can dance together?
Together, together, together
First time you see and then you'll be
Five times forever and you never get lost"What’s Orphans? I don’t know. Orphans is a dead end kid driving a coffin with big tires across the Ohio River wearing welding goggles and a wife beater with a lit firecracker in his ear." - Tom Waits0 -
from Brighten The Corners..."Old To Begin"
Embrace the senile genius
Watch him reïnvent the wheel
I don't need your summary acts, summary acts
To give into the narrative age
Old to begin
I will set you back, set you back, set you
Old to begin
I will set you back, set you back, set you
You get to feeling like a fixture
Set in 1966
Time came that we drifted apart, drifted apart
Find an unidentical twin
Old to begin
I will set you back, set you back, set you
Old to begin
I will set you back, set you back, set you
Search for a blatant cause
Blame it on menopause
Or perhaps stress and strain
Credit cards lumbar pain
But I've called you double dare
Everything extraordinaire
I know the things you do call to come back
La la la la la
La la la la la"I wanna believe in the mercy of the world again."

yeah, i've been seeing them in record stores as "Super Savers" and on sale...a sure fire way to tell if a CD will be getting an upgrade. Those undecided,........ Needn't have faith to be free
And those misguided, There was a plan for them to be
Now you got both sides Claiming killing in Gods name
But God is nowhere,..... To be found, conveniently

Matador seem to be timing this right around each records 10 yr. anniversary, so I think we'll see it, but it'll be a couple years.
It'll be nice to replace all the b-sides I had either on tape or as an mp3 with something more permanent.Statistically speaking, you're more likely to be pitied by Mr. T than you are to have feet.0 -
pavement is sooo great. was so lucky to have seen them live twice. i love every single record. but wowee zowee is a fave.... grave architecture..

It is the only album that I heard and liked so far. I think Stephan himself is better. Wowee zowee is very good though, too bad the other two CD's I've heard don't even begin to come close« One man's glory is another man's hell.
You’re on the outside, never bound by such a spell.
Together in the darkness, alone in the light.
I took it upon me to be yours, Timmy,
I’ll lead your angels and demons at play tonight......»0 -
anyone got this yet?
I'm about to go pick it up. I heard it was great. the other two reissues were some of the greatest packages I've ever seen.
I wish matador would do the same for some of those old GBV records.Under the Bushes, Under the Stars just had it's 10th anniversary this year........."What’s Orphans? I don’t know.
