Ok, so my husband wants to kill me. I had the hard drive running (500 GB and full of music) and was updating ipod. Somehow, don't ask, I dropped it. Now it won't work. Everyone i talk to says i'm pretty much SOL, since it was running when i dropped it.
PLEASE! any recommendations? Can this be fixed????

When you plug it in, does it make any sounds? Does it show up? have you tried a disk utility to see if it shows up- not to fix (DON'T DO THAT!! makes it harder to recover) Otherwise, you will probably need data recovery- and its not cheap (my husband does this for a living). If your worried and you definitely want the data-don't mess with it- take it to a professional. DriveSavers is a good company- based in California- not cheap. You can try local- but make sure that they know what they are doing.

    good luck.

edit: I see you are in long island, you can take it to TekServe in Manhattan- they do good work. Its a Macintosh only company- but they do reco for any operating system- even PC
  • disk warrior is good. if it does mount pull everything off right there... This will teach you to back stuff up...sorry best of luck to ya
