    There is also now a graphic novel version of the book now available....quite good. 8-)

    True, no book that covers the entire scope of the nation's history comes close....while there might be better books on individual events, eras or persons....this is the best broadstroke history around.

    Excellent book. Used it a lot at uni. Had so many little personal stories that yuo would not learn about from other books.

    What is your job?
    Just so you know, even if I were to buy it, it would be a second-hand book that I'd buy. My preference for most books, if possible.
