Some websites work, others don't

I've no idea why but lately, I've found that some websites (such as this one) work perfectly, but others such as Google, IMDB or Hotmail give me a "Problem loading page" screen.

If I restart my router, it usually fixes it, only to revert back to the problem in a couple of hours.

So what's exactly going on? I'm on wireless. Could it to do with ports? I'm not knowledgeable in this at all.

Sounds like it might be a virus. I had a similar problem not too long ago. It was some kind of downloader trojan that made it impossible to load Google and Yahoo but not other sites, and the router appeared to be working fine. I ran about 5 different virus scans and finally got rid of it. Just do a Google search for "pages won't load" or "common pages won't load" and there are lots of helpful tips. But definitely run whatever anti-virus software you have and give your machine a good once-over.

I don't think it's a virus because I've done all the scans and found nothing.

It isn't my browser either, tried in IE and Firefox.

The problem just seemed to fix itself until today where it's happened again. I can acsesses this page and a few others, but pages like Google are just "Problem Loading Page" :S

After leaving the pit, can you get back on?

I had something almost just like this. I posted it here but nobody responded
I would be on here, then I would try to open another page on another tab or window and I couldnt get a connection to it.

For me, it turned out to be an internet problem. But I still hevent tried to use my wireless router since then for fear of having the same problem again.

I can visit sites but all of them are just text or HTML format. They all look like they're in pre-finished mode.

    Weird.
