For some reason I can't get any of my vcd's to play on my computer. Can anyone suggest a program I can download that might play them? Thanks.

    Hmmm...that's weird.

I actually thought most video programs would play them.
Are you getting a message? Sometimes starting them can be tricky and you might have to look into the file.

Almost all DVD players play them.

I watched them years ago so I'm confused why they aren't playing also. I don't think there is an error message but I'll try again tonight and see.

It is probably a codec issue.

But yeah, if you are using DVD software, it should work.

Don't think I'm using a dvd software....all I have is the windows player. Maybe that's the problem. Can you recommend free software to download so I can play these things?

Also, should I be able to play them on my regular dvd player that's hooked to the tv? I'm a technology idiot, sorry.

Try this, it's a great little programme that plays just about any kind of file you can imagine.

That depends on the DVD player itself. Not all players can play VCD's. But most all DVD software for computers can.
