what a awesome year for rookies this season.
Who's gonna win ROOKIE Of The YEAR?
QB- Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco ??
RB- Chris Johnson, Matt Forte, Steve Slaton, ???
WR- DeSean Jackson, Eddie Royal,...
TE- John Carlson???
who else am i missing?
I'd cast my vote for Chicago's Matt Forte, he's basically the team's RB and WR and carried them this far(along with Orton). Matt Ryan's been great by Flacons got a great running game too. And Chris Johnson has LenDale White as the Titans' great tailback duo.

Ryan
Forte
Slaton in that order.
Slaton would be higher if anyone knew who the Houston Texans are.
Johnson
Jackson

But the point you raise is why I'd say Chris Johnson is a better pick than Forte ... Johnson's been splitting time with White, and has amassed the same stats, more TDs, and a better per rush avg.
Felix Jones had a GOOD shot at it, then he got hurt.
I'd say with the Titans being 11-1 ... and the Falcons having the season they are, it's between Johnson and Ryan, edge to Ryan because he's a quarterback (not my edge, but he gets more pub as a QB, so, the voter's edge).
How about Defensive ROY .... Jerod Mayo?

One of the few good things we can say about New England's defense.

Then Forte.
Would have been Felix Jones if not for the injuries.
But what Ryan has done has been incredible. Especially after the Vick fiasco.
From the NFC, if the Cowboys don't make the playoff, I will be pulling for the Falcons.

if you mean kris jenkins of the jets, he's been in the league for about 6 or 7 years now, he was a free agent singing from Carolina (possibly why you didn't hear of him until this year?).
He played against the Pats in the Superbowl.
He'd be a hell of a rookie though!

Joe Flacco.
seriously.
His stats were not as good as Matt Ryan's ... not that Ryan blew him out of the water, but, Ryan's were better. And seeing where the Falcons came from to where they were this year .... Ryan should have beat out Flacco.
Still think Chris Johnson should have won.

It might not be, but the top 5 rushing teams all made the playoffs this year and only 2 of the top 5 passing teams did.
