Eight years and $102 million with $36 million guaranteed. That's just an eye-popping deal, but NFL QB is the most important position in sports and when a team has a top-5 talent, he must be paid accordingly. Hopefully Ben can retire as a Steeler with at least one more Lombardi Trophy on his (hopefully) Hall-of-Fame resume. Now the Steelers need to address the offensive line.

having just raised the cap it's a nice reasonable deal for a proven championship winning 26 year old. It's actually 1 millon less guarenteed than Mike Vick got and 50 less million dollars of Cap problems.. They did a great job paying him his worth and by paying him now they actually save in the long term.

They keep a valuable commidity in short supply and let good older players like Faneca go where they can get paid.

This draft is deep on the OL and some of the big guys like Richardson and Chirilus can move inside to guard and fit that pulling trapping system the steelers like.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.
