"some words when spoken can't be taken back"

I used this in an argument I had with my sister today after she called me "selfish, you only think of yourself' "and you may be a good brother (to my other 2 sisters) but not to her" I said "some words when spoken, can't be taken back"
(I think it is totally false and she knew she was wrong as soon as i walked off and tried to apologise)

But I am a strong believer in the saying "never let the sun go down on your anger"

Anyway we are cool now.

I'm glad you're cool now, 'cuz what you said was pretty harsh. She was only accusing you of being selfish.

for me, that line, is more about serious 'words.' Like, "I never loved you and I wish I never met you. You ruined the last 10 years of my life." um, yeah, those words can't be taken back.

WHAT?? she told him that he was not a good brother. if one of my sisters said that to me, it would break my freakin' heart.

i dont think he was harsh at all.

I think that line is so true. My husband said something to me in a fight one time before we were married and it stung. BAD. And no matter how much he apologized for it and said he didn't mean it, it still came out...and it came from somewhere and there's no way he could ever take it back.

To me I do heaps for my family, always buy them things, always go and pick them up if they need a lift, let her borrow my car and I always lift the heavy things and open the jars. She said it in an argument, to try and hurt me. she said it, it hurt, I walked off. Sometimes 'in the heat of the battle' something slips out which we don't mean.


And to say it was a bit harsh??? I think that was a bit harsh.... take the line for what it was, a line.... The line as I intended it did not come with any baggage associated with the song. She wouldn't even have known where it comes from.

The extent of her love of Pj lies with Jeremy, even flow, alive, betterman... In other words, the singles.

I remeber when I figthed with one of my 4 brothers ...he told me things that really hurt me, but In my case when I figth with my brothers we tell us everything that we don't dare to tell face to face .It's terrible to expect a figth to know what your brother think about you......
