There are already 2 warmup shows for Bonnaroo. They're called West Palm Beach and Tampa. ;)

That would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath. A "trip down memory lane" at the Fox would definitely be nice.....however, Mamma Mia is playing there that night so that would be a no go.

as much as i'd love to see a warm-up in atlanta, especially since i'm flying into atl, i'm already upset that they have a date on the 12th in tampa, because bonnaroo begins on the 12th, i understand they aren't playing bonnaroo on the 12th but how can they expect fans to shell out 250 for 4 days of music at bonnaroo and then play the 12th 600 miles away, to me this is really unfair to the fanbase

They aren't playing anywhere in Atlanta during Bonnaroo. It would necessarily be the 13th or the 15th of June and PJ is NOT going to play concerts on the 11th (West Palm Beach), 12th (Tampa), 14th (Bonnaroo), 16th (Columbia) and 17th (Virginia Beach) with only one off day in between.

They're getting a bit older and that type of slave-drivin' schedule would make for some less-than-spectacular shows, in my opinion.

Atlanta fans will have to travel to Manchester, Columbia, or Florida and hope for a date later in the year.

Roxy? I was thinking the Fox but you have better aspirations! I think if they did a small venue then we can at least hope for the Tabernacle. Its better than the Roxy anyway. ;)

It's unfair to the fanbase to be playing shows in different cities on different days? They are basing there plans to cater to people who are following them around.

I love posts around tour time.

i agree! it's hilarious what people find to complain about as soon as a tour gets ready to roll.
  • They probably are not allowed to play Atlanta. Too close to Tennessee. Bonnaroo has a black out area that the headliners aren't allowed to play. So that's why no Atlanta, Charlotte, and especially Memphis or Nashville.

Which sucks for Pearl Jam they would have actually sold out Atlanta and Charlotte instead of having to play Tampa.
  • I still don't understand the coming to Columbia, SC and not Atlanta...however I would LOVE to see them at the Tabernacle. Talk about a dream show!! Or if they did 2 nights at the Tabernacle like NIN...

I think Bravesfan21 explained it clearly...

  • Yeah, seeing as how we posted at the same time I didn't get to read the post before I made mine. Although, I didn't know that about Bonnaroo, that makes since, too bad for us!

Pearl Jam loves Atlanta too, they've recorded there before and the legendary Fox show was there. The last time they played Philips Arena they talked about how Atlanta was like a second home to them. When people talk about the low attendance in the south Atlanta is not the reason. They should just do three night stands at Philips Arena and be done with the rest of the south.

I had the same hope & the Tabernacle would be awesome, but seeing Tampa & Columbia on each side of Bonnoroo, I don't see how it'd be possible - although, I'd still love it - maybe before West Palm?

Ding Ding Ding, Bravesfan gets it right. I think Bonaroo headlinders have a 30 day pre/post no compete clause for like a 300 mile radius. That's why the Police had to wait until the fall to play Atlanta last year.

    Thats good shit!
