I'm afraid my smart jeans are not at their best after one wear, they'll do 2 at a push. Denim is much softer these days than it used to be, once upon a time, a pair of jeans would be almost unwearable for a week after washing. Not so now :) me and Chris Cornell, we love 'em

Denim is definitely softer. When I was a kid, a new pair of Levi's was practically impossible to wear. And you didn't wear a new pair because your friends would try to wreck them. After getting a new pair of jeans, the first thing you did was was them and use an entire bottle of fabric softener. It made you jeans look like the pre-faded jeans they sell now.

Oh, and i must be a complete pig. I can go two weeks without washing them wearing them every day. But then again, I am a guy. :D

do you mean you wear the same ones day after day?

Yea, I can wear the same ones day after day. I usually don't do anything to get them especially dirty, and I am not a big sweater. It just seems excessive to wash them every few days. However, I always wear a shirt once, before I wash it, and of course, underwear and sox get only one wear before they go to the wash. ;)

Actually, I do all the laundry, washing and drying. She folds it up and puts it away. We have more trouble over who takes the garbage out. She thinks that is a man's job. :D

Back to jeans, I just like the feel of a well lived-in pair of jeans.

I can easily get 7 days out of a pair before washing but I'm a student  I alternate though, I don't wear them for 7 days in a row, I rotate pairs to give them an airing :p

but, 10 days? wouldn't it at least accumulate some dust or something making it a bit itchy to the skin?

Not in my experience. They only get more comfortable with each day. I hate wearing recently washed jeans, they're too tight and inflexible.
she was underwhelmed, if that's a word

See, that is what I am talking about. Freshly washed jeans are more itchy and uncomfortable. I feel the same way. Each day I wear them, they become more comfortable to the point it feels like I am wearing nothing at all.

  • i try to get 2 to 3 wears before putting them in the basket, but my wife seems to have a hard on for washing them after every wear. i tell her she doesn't have to do that, it's not like i'm outside rolling around in the mud.

same thing with hoodies. i always wear a t-shirt under a hoodie, so i don't see the point in washing them after wearing it once. the only time i would want my jeans or hoodies washed after only wearing them once is if i spilled something on them.
I only wear a hoodie when I'm cold... and always over a tshirt so yep I definitely agree with ya. So the hoodies get washed every couple months :o

I'm a slob with my jeans... I wash them when they need washing... or if I'm starting to look like a homeless person :o

My boyfriend does a clothes wash almost every day  I do about one a week.

I guess none of you have jeans from this company then:

I wear Citizens. I wash them in cold water inside out and hang dry. I don't muck out stalls or dig ditches in them. I can wear em for a week before washing. Hoodies go a week.

Depends on the jean and what I'm doing in them for sure. Any with spandex I definitely can't wear more than twice, if that, because they stretch out way too much, but I do like them for certain things. Good old regular jeans, I can usually wear at least a week or more in our cooler weather, unless I'm playing in the mud or something! :)
