MLB All Star Game's rules regarding extra inning

pardon me for being ignorant about the rules.

correct me if im wrong but the rulebook says that once a player is substituted, he can't be in the game anymore.

what about in the all star game? if all the players have been used & there's no one left in the bench? what will happen?

    Well, in the 12 now and unless something happens it looks like 13.


    This happened years ago and the stopped at a tie. Which to me = not baseball. Oh well.

    and regarding this game...this is baseball at its best...especially, ESPECIALLY the bottom of the tenth with the bases loaded.....

    You can re-enter a catcher if a non-pitcher leaves due to injury.

    hopefully this will correct the horrible horrible horrible rule that the winning league at the ALL STAR GAME gets home advantage in the WORLD SERIES

    Won't happen...that's how they got into the "this time it counts" BS to begin with. This is gonna have to play out, one way or another. The 1st team to run of out of pitching will put a position player on the mound and I'm sure the game will end shortly thereafter between hits and walks charged to said pitcher.

    So Kazmir is on short pitch count...they are out of pitchers...they are out of position players.



    The only thing would be to double switch and make Kazmir like Left Field or something and the left fielder the pitcher!

    mauer came out on deck, and would have hit had Longoria reached. they said catchers can come back due to injury to the other catcher, but they probably eased the rule to include the extra innings

    and Webb threw 108 on Sunday, and was not supposed to pitch. Which I understand. But don't go if you won't be able to pitch. Will this be the last inning? They can't possibly let kazmir or Webb throw any more. And they couldn't bring in someone who left the game 3 hours ago?????

    okay, webb is done, Lidge, the last NL pitcher, is in. they can't let him throw more than 1 inning.
